He is right. Its a cheap Spurs bashing line about us being soft and not putting our foot in.

Alot of our current lot look like they like a bit of a tear up to be honest, im thinking Dier, Nabs, Mason, Rose, Toby, Dele, Walker even Lamela. They arent shy.

It's great to hear that they really care, good to hear the anger, that's a winning mentality, I love it.
Loris has said quite a few times how much he believes in his team and how much potential that he feels they have.

I honestly think we're building something special at the moment.

I hope so but as I've so often said with kids you never can tell. We have a group of players under 25, Kane, Dier, Alli, Eriksen, Lamela, Son, Clinton, Mason and Bentaleb all of them could become among the best players in their positions in the league. If in a few years time they've all improved significantly we'll have a great team. Sad to say, we've got excited by youngsters before and nothing has happened. Thinking of Bentley, Bostock and a few others who looked like they might make it but they've vanished. A lot will be down to the manager, can he do what old red nose did 20 years ago and turn a good group of youngsters into a great team. The chances are some will make it while others fall by the wayside. With a new stadium coming slowly, there's a chance to compete with the best in Europe in a few years if we get things right but optimism has caught us out before. Can Poch make himself a legend? The next few years will be interesting.

I guess the difference between this lot and Bentley for example is that they appear to have their feet on the ground and I think that's a lot to do with the manager. Bentley thought the was Billy Big Bollocks the moment he set foot in WHL. I think your comparison with the United youngsters from the 90's is more accurate.

Our team is good and has potential, but unfortunately is no where near that Man U side of the mid/late 90's. We wish!!

You're right. Also, Bentley wasn't part of a crop of promising youngsters. We have such a number of them now I feel they'll carry each other onwards and upwards. The whole being greater than the sum of its parts, as it were, which again I think is something SAF had.

Future Spurs & England captain there.

Says all the right things, but doesn't sound coached, all very natural.

Oh, and he can play a bit!

Dier's performance in DM was exceptional. I genuinely feel like he's saved us £20m in the transfer market

Jesus, talk about glass half empty. For every Bentley there has been a Bale, Berbatov, Modric or Boatang. Some of our current crop wont be world beaters but I hope 1 or 2 will be. For the first time in years we have a clear direction under Poch and if we all get behind him it might just succeed. After all what is the alternative, a new manager every 18 months with a string of big money failures waiting for the new man to deal with.

I think playing at DM is doing him a power of good. His passing is getting better all the time, he's more aware of what is going on all around him and he is a decent reader of the game. If and when he moves back to CB he will be all the better for the experience. Could be our new Ledley, dare I say.

It's nice to have a player who has some genuine pride for the club and himself, that's been missing for a long time in the side. I think that's where the 'I don't like it' comment comes from.

I'm starting to wonder if he'll stay as a DM now. He's been man of the match, or close to it, in every game this season. He owns that position now.

I've heard him say before that he wants to be a cb. Then again, I remember bale saying that his best position was left back and he wanted to play there.

I'm hoping it is. With kids it's so hard to know what will happen to them. I would've said that Livermore looked like he could be a reliable sort of player but that didn't work out, for Hull rather than us. If you look at Alli at his age there's not much to split him from Beckham or Bentley. I hope Poch can help him become a superstar but first time in the bright lights of the capital it really could go either way.
