Are you sure about that? He played in the position only a few times for Lisbon.

He was being coached as a DMF at Sporting and played there before going onto be a regular at CB, point is Poch wasn't the one who coached him :)

Liked that interview a lot.
He was genuinely pissed off about the media shite constantly being put out there.
Good to see and there's a real team bonding feel at the moment, ever since the window shut and Son added some much needed pace.
Lamela looks a different player now he finally got some confidence and the way we're zipping it about now compared to August when the window was open, well, we're unrecognisable.
Liked seeing Poch punching the air as well.
Another false dawn anyone lol.

What do you think Poch has been doing with Dier during his time at Spurs? Dier is progressing rapidly, which I put down to Poch.
Bloody hell, Everton won!

Yeah I know Poch has ilobviously worked with him but he's been coached in that role before...

It's not all down to Poch...

OK, but read the following from The Guardian in 2014:
"Tottenham have made their move, with Mauricio Pochettino believing that Dier could not only provide competition in central defence but cover at right-back and in defensive midfield."

The OK was meant to agree with your point, but with the caveat in the Guardian Piece: that is, Pochettino had identified the role and worked on it. So, yes it's not that he had never played the role before and players on the continent are often taught different roles, but it is Pochettino that has driven on his development.
