I think you are possibly referring to me (as I have not seen anyone else suggest Dier might go), if so I never said he wanted to go to United, just that he really wanted to play in midfield.
This wasn't meant to be the case, i could have sworn we had some other stuff, not verified even, that got everyone extremely worked up. Plus it was possibly poorly worded, as a fair amount of 'information' we had actually came from the media or was total guesswork based on your reliable info. Really just glad he seems to be staying and we can get back to the real action soon,

Has the widely held opinion that dier is a shite, overrated, dawdling thug incapable of playing in midfield always been held by many fans or has it come about due to a bit of dubious itk saying he wanted United and dodgy performances in meaningless pre season friendlies. I swear most people considered him significant in our squad (could be very wrong, I certainly think he's a vital cog) and now the tide seems to have changed to a 50-50 split at best. Aka the Kyle walker effect.

Walker's left, so some people need a new scapegoat.

I love Dier, but if he is not prepared to play in whatever position Poch wants him to, he should leave. I'm not mad on the prospect of changing a successful formation just to keep him happy.

He should remember that it was Poch who put him in midfield, and he can take him back down too. Don't you want me baby, don't you want me ohhh.

I have heard or seen very little to suggest this is the case. Naturally he will prefer one position, but not prepared to play, no chance,
Eric could have made holding on to him a whole lot harder this summer than he seems to have.

Exactly.

Dier was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar before Poch found him.

I'm pretty sure that the song ends with Dier thinking it's time he lives his life on his own. The comparison isn't helpful.

I can picture Eric in a Bayern shirt but I just don't think they have the money to buy him

He played in midfield on numerous occasions at Sporting.
