Christian Eriksen is still refusing to talk to Tottenham Hotspur over a new contract, despite the club preparing to pay him more than £200,000-per-week, leaving club officials perplexed.

Start preparing for him going on a free. Which means blooding in a team that plays without CE. Aim for the longer term success imo. Weaker without him, but if he is going anyway prep starts now. A shame, but that's the way of football now and clubs need to learn how to contingency plan better.

Good for him. I think a lot of people assume a club 'owns' a person. He will have fulfilled his contractual obligations. Whilst we would all (mostly) like him to stay, he gets freedom of choice without directors dictating where he can and cannot go.

There's a fair few of us would love a lifestyle change...!

In the end, I won't have anything against him if he leaves next summer after having been a professional this season. That's as long as he leaves for another league.

Well my view is that he has been anything but professional for the last six months and has not been putting 100% in.
If it transpires that what we have been witnessing for the last six months is his very best effort then all I can conclude is we can do a lot better than this parody of what we have seen prior to the last six months and it would be in the clubs interest to move him on for as I say we can do better than this version of Eriksen that we are witnessing.

If that happens, then it's because all their preferred options failed.

Same gut, Pogba back to Juve?

Same gut again! Eriksen sounds like he's made some family assurances that they are off to Spain

But it could just be wind:LOL:

Which is why we needed to replace him AND get GLC, so that we didn't have to deal with either losing this summer without a replacement or having to play a disenfranchised player all year and then spend even MORE money replacing him next year.

Yeah you should probably see a doctor about that.

I have come around in my logic of his behaviour. If he doesn't sign this week, I reckon we should sell him for 40-50 million the following week. Cut price but still quadruple our money.

We've got tons of midfielders

Chance would be a fine thing... Where are the clubs that are offering 40-50 million for him?

I think that's where we are, he's not as good as he and we think he is, I said this yesterday, he's not disinterested and below par, he's playing at his level, that's why Real see him as a squad player whereas he sees himself as a starter for them. At his best he's sublime but that's his best rather than his usual level.

Sorry, maybe I'm old fashioned, but I only want someone to play for us if they want to. He's had a fantastic offer on the table for quite some time now which he doesn't appear to want to sign. I think he's been great for us but it's time he left because he clearly thinks he's destined for greatness elsewhere.

I noticed Pep having a long chat with him after the game yesterday.

Am guessing something along the lines of “you would be great in Spain”
