Eriksen is following the same upward path Modric travelled before him. Now, today in Nizhny, they go head to head on the grandest stage of all.

Both terrific players. However, I don't remember Modric being any better than Eriksen defensively. Where I do think Modric is better is his control of the football in tight spaces and how difficult it was to get it off him. Modric was superb at that and then using it. On the other side, I think Eriksen's final ball is better and his scoring record is excellent.

Being a Spurs fan, I am a dreamer, so I sometimes I think what it would be like if Modric and Bale were still at Spurs. A front five of Modric, Bale, Kane, Alli & Eriksen. I reckon we might score the odd goal with that mob.

Eriksen is a fantastic player but Modric has been incredibly consistent throughout his career whereas CE goes through the odd rough patch. Think Croatia will have a bit too much for Denmark.

They aren’t much alike at all if I am honest, lazy comparison.

I think it's a really good article. Of course they are different players as it acknowledges, but they have in common that they are creative hubs for their teams. My only criticism of it is (As has already been said) Eriksen isn't little.

Little? Eriksen is almost 6 feet tall. I wish I was that little.
Modric is 5ft 8, hardy a hobbit. Maybe a little small among all the genetic freaks that seem to dominate squads these days but in the normal population, 5ft 8 is average and only an inch of 2 less the me.

I don't think so... One plays further up the pitch than the other, but both approach the game in the same way, and both are the metronomes of their teams.

Can’t agree, Modric controls the game, makes it tick, recycles the ball effectively, he doesn’t score much or directly assist much, he is the link. Eriksen’s strength is his eye for that pass and his ability to score a decent amount of goals.

What they do have in common is they can’t score penalties lol.

I love to have modric back, we would be such a good team with him feeding the ball to our attacking players.

Different players but both fabululosly talented, both have incredible stamina, both given all for their teams, both make you want to watch football and both try to make things happen.

They are alike in the importance they are to their respective national teams. Neither team would be as effective without them.

Maybe, but then I'd say that neither Croatia or Denmark, on the games' (yesterdays) performance, aren't really World Cup winners.
