Well I mean "most highly rated in years" which was the full quote by that member I was quoting. How do we know that?We know he's highly rated by Sherwood because he's already brought him on twice

Agree, Bentaleb has come on twice and shown that he can play at this level, but has not done anything amazing. I think there's been an overreaction from a lot of fans regarding Bentaleb TBH. In fact, its well known that 'bringing in a youth player' is sometimes used as a ploy by managers to win fans over. The thing is, people are thinking that because Bentaleb hasn't done anything WRONG, that somehow justifies his substitute selection over Capoue (twice) and Holtby (once). He's not done anything wrong, but he's not done anything super fantastic either, which Capoue or Holtby could potentially have done.
Or just play Paulinho who's better than both.If Bentalab is that good then play him from the start.
I dont like the no DM tactic its shit and leaves the defense exposed.
It also means the creatives are always defending when they should be creating.
Capoue or Bentalab just fcking start one or the other
Time for Tim to start earning his paycheck.Or just play Paulinho who's better than both.
I think it will beIf Sherwood plays Eriksen and Holtby again in CM i will smash anyone sitting near me on the nut if he tells me not to call Sherwood a fucking clueless wanker.
Not as a holding midfield player he isn't. Sandro is our best holding player by some distance anyway.Or just play Paulinho who's better than both.
TBH if Lamela's on the left instead of Siggy it would probably be the strongest midfield we could put out baring in mind Sherwoods 4-4-2 philosophy so far.I think it will be
Lennon, Paul.Eriksen,Siggy
If it is this line up, would you kindly pass on a smack in the mouth to Sherwood for me. Thanks

I strongly agreeI will....seriously though i never give our team or manager grief in the stadium,,but here on SC i can vent my anger..and i must say ....i know i shouldn't say this ....but i cant stand Sherwood, and i don't really know why.
I didnt say as 'holding midfielder' did I. I meant as a central midfielder in general, and Paulinho would still sure us up a lot defensively due to his physicality. Dunno why your mentioning Sandro, obviously he's the best DM but he's injured so it's irrelevant. Not as a holding midfield player he isn't. Sandro is our best holding player by some distance anyway.

Are you suggesting we could START Bentaleb? If Bentalab is that good then play him from the start.

Because Holtby, Capoue and Dembele aren't dead. Why not?
Let's face it, whoever he chooses, someone on here will give him abuse. It would be interesting to have a 'who plays if fully fit' team poll on the forum as opinions always seem to be so polarised.Time for Tim to start earning his paycheck.
Tough decisions ahead.
I take it you haven't seen much of him for Brazil then, he's a beast, and does plenty of good defensive work for them.Paulinho offers very little defensively. His tackling ability is near non-existent, nor does he have the strength and ability to force players off the ball that Dembele has. Playing Paulinho in a 442 without someone like Capoue or Sandro alongside him is going be be ridiculously easy to get through.
