I'm pretty sure the Payet boat has sailed for most, even the bigger fish. I was banging on about him when he was at Lille, I couldn't believe none of the bigger teams in richer leagues were interested in him then, but even the RM's of this world rarely buy 29/30yo's.

It's too late for him at Spurs, we wouldn't pay the money he would cost 12 months ago for a 28yo, let alone what he'd cost now, or want in salary (and understandably - we work more logical business model - West Ham were more desperate and playing catch up, the risk made more sense), the lesson is... give Pritchard a chance because, whilst he's nowhere near that level now, he's a very similar type of player, similar skill set and similar pitch impudence. What he needs is what Payet has had, a chance to develop that character and talent. he might not turn out to be "Payet", but then 6 years ago Payet wasn't "Payet", he was Pritchard trying to be Payet. And we don't have a time machine.
Actually he was "Payet" 6 years ago, before Lille. He was awesome @ ASSE and called up to the National team. His career has been stalled by immaturity and reputation. And THAT is why it has taken so long to really break through to greater recognition. The Matuidi incident, transfer sagas, etc have slowed his greater recognition. He was always a talented player but many thought he was not worth the risk.
As far as Pritchard idk. Have seen no Brentford video, watched his time (before injury) at the u21 euros, and the 1st team minutes he got before re-injury this term. Will take your work on it as far as his potential. He did look friggin lively and skillful at the U21's.

I agree he was already showing "payet-ness" at St Etienne, it was more a general point I was trying to make.
