Poch and Simeone have totally different outlooks on the game. Poch is all about being on the front foot, pressing, the high line, and trying to control the game. Someone is all about the low block defensive organisation, blanket defence, and then relying on the transitions to counter, or prey on mistakes. Much like Jose, it’s infuriating when no-risk football pays off.I’ve said this before but I think they sort of remind me of us.
Poch and Simeone both got their ideas and philosophies from Bielsea, both teams runs a lot and press high. Both have a fairly young squad and promoted a few academy players. Both don’t have the money to compete with their rivals but are still up there every year. Both new stadiums, both historical big clubs but have underperformed (until both managers joined).
The difference is that they’ve won stuff and competed in Europe and plays bit more defensively than us
