Koke might be the most underrated footballer I’ve ever seen. He’s been world class for at least 4 years but no one is really talking about him. He always runs the most on the pitch, he’s good at set pieces, can play in many positions, can dictate the tempo, create chances, wins tackles. Lovely player

I loved that goal. The pass was clever and then four perfect touches on the run at top speed with a delightful finish at the end.

Simple, but technically superb.

I swear it was someone on here who recently said they don’t rate Griezmann...

Yeah I remember that. Bonkers. He’s a Rolls Royce of a player. How many players would have been able to take so many deft touches of the ball in the run up to that game, and then finish like that? Started the move as well with a perfectly controlled one touch lay off into space.

I think because of the negative way Athletico play he sometimes doesn’t stand out as much.

Atletico's transitions and movement is really good tonight, 2nd goal just encapsulated their play in this match

They are a great team, but I just can’t love this Athletico team. They remind me of a better version of George Graham’s Arsenal team and Leicester.... with some added continental cynical cheating thrown in.

Plus Costa.

I think we've got a Koke addict.

They're so much better than Leicester. They're so calm in defence even when under intense pressure. They work so hard and have some really high quality transitional patterns. Id love us to be like them to be honest

I’ve said this before but I think they sort of remind me of us.
Poch and Simeone both got their ideas and philosophies from Bielsea, both teams runs a lot and press high. Both have a fairly young squad and promoted a few academy players. Both don’t have the money to compete with their rivals but are still up there every year. Both new stadiums, both historical big clubs but have underperformed (until both managers joined).
The difference is that they’ve won stuff and competed in Europe and plays bit more defensively than us

Oh yeah they’re miles better, I just can’t get excited about it, even though I admire their defending and technical ability.

They are a top class team no doubt.

There may be similarities in clubs, but I don’t really see it style wise.
