I thought he played well. Bad penalty miss although the adrenalin had gone after 6 minutes of waiting and a little higher and it would have been good. Head stayed up. Got into good positions. Tenacious. Good footwork. Definitely a keeper for the long term. Not only because he is home grown, but also skillful. Good strike for the goal.

Best I have seen him play .....and will be the first to admit I've given him some harsh comments on here before now.
But last night he played really well, got into great postitions, kept the ball well .....linked up play well....showed some nice touches and good footwork.....and took his goal well.
My concern is he still looks a little lost at times on what he should do,and the lack of pace ....if he had more pace, several times last night he would have got through.
Also he needed several chances before he put one away and at a high level you have to be taking them chances ...
HOWEVER he does have age on his side and will improve....so yep decent squad player to have and homegrown is another plus.

But on last night performance .....take a bow Kane :)
Would like to add aswell I thought Sandro was back to his best .....made so many tackles, well the whole team as a unit played well ....pressed them high up .....dropped into postitons to cover others....when they lost the ball they ran back .......top stuff all round :)

I would also include Aaron Lennon among those who played well last night; he cut inside and buzzed around in Limassol's midfield all night creating chances and did his fair of getting back and defending; and if that delicious chip had only come off...........!!

He didnt start too well for me and his control was off but he grew and grew and had a very good game. That lift over the keeper that was cleared off the line, he didnt have time to think about it and it came instinctively as he was closed down. I didnt think he had that in him.
