Some long trips ahead for the team there...would definitely have preferred to have drawn Celtic and some of the others that are closer to home. Besiktas looked pretty good against Arsenal and Ba is a good signing for them. I imagine it's going to be a battle between us and them for the top spot.

Nasty group, lots of travel time. Besiktas look a good team and Belgrade will be hostile.
The Europa League actually looks quite strong this season - just a shame there's about 40 games to play before the final and that they let in the Champs League rejects at the knockout stage which is ridiculous really.
Hopefully we will go out and try and win it though and with a bit of clever squad management it won't derail our league performances.

Would like to have been easier with less travelling so we could just breeze through without having to balance the games with our league commitments.

Some serious trips there - might aswell have got draws in Russia and Armenia. Was hoping we'd draw Belgian and Dutch opposition to spare the gruelling travel, or else whipping boys so we'd need not send the first team out and risk the Sunday hangover defeat again. That said, our second string is much better than a few seasons ago.

Great group for us to keep the squad players fresh and competitive. This is when Europa league pays off. No point in playing average Joes that give us false hope

I think the EL rejects should be placed in the CL knockout stage :)

if the team that was put out on Thursday cant get us through we don't deserve it. we had nine changes to the side that beat QPR, add soldado holtby Fazio and walker who didn't start either we have a strong enough squad
