Really unprofessional from Laporta to announce those clubs are part of it. He’s made the whole thing look like even more of a joke.

But Barca have money lots of it, each and every year they generate millions, more than 99% of teams in Europe

Its bad management that sees them in the position they are today. Both Real and Barca are greedy, selfish children not getting their own way.

I could understand if its one of the smaller clubs, Bilbao, saying look at the money the premier has got.

Really hope Barca go to the wall. Ran by absolute clowns for years!
4th Highest revenue in Europe (closer to 1st than 5th) with only 1 PL club ahead of them, 2nd most productive (in terms of players produced) academy in Europe but 21st in terms of revenue from players.

They must be one of, if not THE worst managed club in Europe. It's all their own doing.

😆😆😆😆 ... Laporta knock out.

Ajax shocked, Feyenoord speaks of 'nonsense'

The problem: three clubs don't seem to know anything about it. Roma said it "does not support in any way any project related to the so-called Super League. The club also makes it clear that it has never revised its position on this matter." The French club Marseille made it clear in a statement that it's negative position had "not changed."

Ajax Amsterdam became even clearer. "Ajax has never discussed this matter with Laporta, let alone agreed to it. Ajax is completely shocked by this unjustified statement." League rivals Feyenoord Rotterdam also called the claims “total nonsense”.

Smug "more than a club" pretensions in the mud
I used to admire Barca when those words actually meant something. They arguably haven't since Pep left them and the Neymar sale tipped the whole club over an edge they have never come close to climbing back up from.

True. Even so, Barca were more than happy to rig the TV money in their favour alongside RM for many a long year during their successes.

It's very good and evocative marketing borrowing from their past but it's rung hollow for a while now.

They won't need made up franchises imo. Once those charges hit City and FFP hampers Newcastle and Chelsea. They have three clubs from England who will want in. Already seeing the narrative from many saying how it's unfair and they premiership is stopping the dreams of these clubs
Clarkson.gif material for the rest of English football if those three pissed off.

You mean all those Messi shirts you see every local kid wearing when you go on holiday where knock offs? 😀
Think the Barca fans might have forgotten about Messi and moved on .
Commercial revenue 2019 was 384 million Euros , in 2023 recovered after a fall now up to 412 million Euros.

Laporta looks like such a clown. Barca are absolutely desperate for it to go ahead for their own financial survival, did he think if he just said all these random teams were on board they'd see the news and go "oh well I guess we're in the Super League now lads"?

“We have decided to revise the name of Superleague and will instead use ‘La Liga’ moving forward. We are very excited to announce the first match of this brand new, exciting and definitely brand new league will take place next weekend when Superpower Cadiz takes on Otherworldy Real Betis. We have now delivered on our promise and Barcelona is also now clear of all debts.”

Tomorrow’s Laporta quotes today.
