I'm not a great fan of Koeman and I'm also not entirely convinced he wanted Rooney back, I always had the impression it was forced upon him rather than being a personal choice of his. It matters very, very little to me what Everton do but a good point was raised earlier about Barkley and whether or not a new manager would want him to leave.
Great to see the other clubs having managerial /player problems with everything in the Spurs camp seeming decidedly happy and content on all levels. (y)

Personally, I don't think they'll have any problems finding an replacement for Koeman. Their squad is actually not bad, IMO. Loads of interesting young names and some really good experience to draw from. One could assemble 11 players from the squad and achieve a decent season.

Pickford isn't horrible, their best CB pairing is OK, Baines, Schneiderlin and Rooney are still useful and Calvert-Lewin is one for the future. Players like Niasse and Gueye are just about reliable enough to avoid relegation, then it remains for the next manager to find an RB in the squad and get Klasssen and/or Sigurdsson fired up.

I wouldn't give him time. Think they've done the right thing cutting their losses. Probably means we won't get barkley now if he likes the new manager.
I doubt it. I think Barkley wants a change regardless of the manager. Seen what Poch has done with the England lads, and wants it.

He'd be insane to stay. Could command a £10-15m signing on fee with a new club next summer.

I don't think it's about money either. Everton reportedly offered him a fat contract over 100k a week. I think he's just realised his career is going nowhere, he's been coached by idiots like Moyes, Martinez, Woy, etc. He wants Poch's magic.

I think he'd want to move in the Jan TW as he wants to be in the WC squad in Russia.

It would be too late if he waited till the summer unless the new manager uses him, and thats if he hasn't burnt any bridges yet or whether he has already made up his mind to leave the club.

But he has to get fit as soon as possible first.

With the new manager he should get games. Ozil and sanchez are both getting games for arsenal.

Barkley's probably reasonably good mates with the England players at Spurs, and they've probably marked his card about what a good coach Poch is behind the scenes. Chances are that he's hearing similar stuff from Kevin Mirallas, who's probably heard the same stuff from our Belgian duo on Belgium team get-togethers.

Exactly. He's got to look at us and then the state of Everton and its a no-brainer. It won't be the new manager swaying his decision. It will be him wondering how the hell he's going to get into our first 11 and warming the bench

This was taken last night. I suspect it's his agent calling him to tell him he's getting sacked in the morning and there's £5m in the bank by 17.00 this evening as Everton pay up his contract. Tough being a manager....

Fair point but Ancelotti is a much more successful manager, even though he didn't do great at BM I would imagine he'll still have a fair few big clubs after him, i can see him back in Italy personally.
Not so sure Rafa had any choice but to take a smaller job.
Kick back and enjoy the millions?

Don't mind Everton tbh, they have a decent squad and made some good signings in the summer. They need a proper striker is all, I think, to make them a team troubling the top 6. But they also need a manager with proper direction. They look a bit aimless.

In fact Barkley has kept quiet apart from when there has been headlines about him wanting more money!

Really hope this happens. I do love it when the likes of Giggs and Campbell throw their hat in the ring for big Premier league management roles, just on the basis they were good players. They never seem to be interested in the lesser positions, which tells me their sense of entitlement is bigger than their desire to manage a football club. Now Neville thinks he deserves a shot, priceless.
