One thing to remember is that everton have ALOT of good youngsters as well. Their U23s is stacked full of talent, they had 5 players in the England u20 squad who won the world cup.

And koeman will bring them through too, so if Everton don't make an immediate impact with all their spending this season, if they younger players keep improving and their newer players adjust to they league then they will be a dangerous side.

I'd be pretty excited if I were an Everton fan. They should definitely improve this season. Whether that means they finish higher in the league or not is different matter, but the team is stronger.
Have to assume that Lukaku is gone though. Reminds me of how we spent the Bale money before selling him.

...and that everyone above them is strengthening as well.

They won't finish Top 4. None of the players would get in our First 11 and Lukaku is off hence the spending.

Will put more pressure on Koeman too. Not at all worried about them.

For some time I've felt Koeman rides the coat tails of the previous incumbents tails, job-wise.

Moves on just before he gets found out. Perhaps following Martinez was an easy number to look like an improvement; so this season will be an acid test of his own capabilities.

That said, we all know the benefits of a settled squad. We afford Vincent Petrus Anna Sebastiaan Janssen another season to acclimatise - half the Toffees' signings have no PL experience.

Likelihood of all settling and firing from the get go is minimal. 8th placed finish for me. That's my marker.

Derek Hatton (two-bit tosser) was on Talkshite earlier with the Deadline Day man saying they're a certainty for Top 4 and could be top 2.

I spat my sandwich out in laughter. I was nearly in tears. Even Cascarino said that top 4 was a pipe dream. Yeah, a crack pipe

Signed some good players but as many have said here, none of them would get in our first XI

Keane and potentially Sandro would improve our squad for sure though

Good on them for having a go. I love the small club mentality on here assuming that if Everton step up then we will be the ones to suffer. From what i recall Utd, City, Liverpool and Arsenal finished below us last season and probably have more cause for concern.
I hope you don't mean me. I'm just saying that Everton are gunning for top 4.

Spurs aren't a top 4 team. We're a top 2 team!

I had to bump this as agree Everton will be up there this year, prob top 4. I know they will lose Lukaku and probably Barkley but they will spend that money too.... remember they got brought last summer and have a billionaire owner now - its not everton of old who had no money.

I think they will go and spend a lot more over the rest of the window, they will challenge us for top 4 this year without a doubt... and its OK saying the players they signed wouldn't get in our first 11 but they would improve our squad which is what we are badly lacking.

I know who I would prefer on our bench between Sissoko and Klaasen for example.... or even Wimmer and Keane, or Sandro and GNK ....

Lets see at the end of the summer as if we strengthen I have no concern, if we don't and try to stick, I think it could end badly with 7 teams fighting for top 4 and 6 of them strengthening.

There's no way they can oust us or Chelsea, we were by miles the two best teams in the country last season and have the most settled squads. City and United are obviously spunking their loads and Liverpool and Arsenal have improved their first XI already. I don't see Everton getting into the top 4, top 6 at a push but around 7th is really their level. Unless 2 or 3 of the top 6 have shit house seasons then their new billionaire owner will probably get pissed off and sack Koeman come the seasons end and they'll start all over again.

lukaku scored 25 league goals their next top scorer was barkley with 5, the rest of the team scored 28 league goals. Siggy will be a good signing but I don't see Sandro doing what lukaku has done

Hopefully they'll take points off the other top teams. They won't do much more than that I wouldn't have thought.

They could help us out a lot in that regard.

Let's not beat about the bush, signing Rooney is a good move for them.
What scares me most is that I have 13 and 11 yr olds, and both have only known him to be a United player!!!
