I don't rate him either but I haven't called him shit.

It's not what you say my friend it's how you've said it, no one would care if you said that you didn't rate Andros and you were glad that he's moved on but have a look at your initial posts, your first adjectives...terrible, Billy big bollocks, arrogant, shite, it looks like you either have an agenda against him or you're talking in unnecessary extremes to get yourself noticed...that's how it comes across anyway.

With that in mind and taking into account that you're on a Spurs site in the player's thread surely you must understand why people are responding in that manner?

Yep you've got me. I'm just trying to "get noticed"

Like I say, I've got no problem with people disagreeing with me. My problem is the condescending tone of your posts and the ridiculously straw man argument being made by Insomnia. You keep talking about how "people" are put out by my posts but it's only been the two of you going round in circles to be honest.

Yeah but GKN probably knows he's on to a good thing and doesn't have public spats with the coaches.

Sorry, but most of what you've been typing out in this thread really is complete rubbish. Your posts make you appear to live in some sort of binary world, where everything is black or white. I can tell you (from personal experience of looking in mirrors) there's a lot of brown in this world and this should be considered when it comes to assessing the performance of players.

"1010101010111001101010" - not like that.

Townsend was deemed "not good enough" for Spurs, a team who under Pochettino have made some of the biggest strides towards the summit of the table. He had a massive falling out and thus his attitude and behaviour came under question, something not tolerated by our manager.

But how that makes Townsend the things you claim he is, is beyond me.

In a way, you remind me a little of my 8 year old son - for whom finishing second, third or fourth is of no merit (he should manage Spurs I reckon). But also, he thinks that anyone not as good as Messi isn't good at all. Which is quite sweet and naïve, but I assume you're older than him, at which point it seems a bit strange.

Really don't understand where you've got any of that from to be honest. I've never said anything about living in a binary world, I've never said anything that even remotely suggests that, you've plucked it out of thin air. You're attributing all kinds of statements to me that I've never made so I'm not really sure what you expect me to say.

And if you're going to just start needlessly insulting me and calling me childish, then I've got very little point in getting into a discussion with you anyway, in particular as the reasons you've seemingly come to the conclusion that I'm a child are things that I've never said/done in the first place.

Perhaps I made my point poorly - sorry.

What I was trying to imply was that your opinions seem rather extreme - simplifying Townsend to "shite" or "not shite".
He clearly is not shite. He's a successful regular in a Premier League team which happens to be one of the most competitive leagues in the world at the moment and has represented his country with some success. That is top end. Of course there are "shit players" within the group who play in the Premier League - but I would be surprised if most categorise Townsend in the lower echelons of Premier League players.

He's a very good player. But limited in (many?) ways that did not fit with Pochettino's style, personality, perhaps work ethic and probably skill level. You can see the difference between Son, Lamela, Alli, Moura and Townsend. But that hardly makes him "shite".

That's what I was trying to say.

Neither are good enough, but Andros is at least proven at PL level, a distinction GKN has yet to earn.
Yeah, I'd like to think that GKN would do ok at that level of club too though, there must be something there that made us buy him!

Actually had high hopes for Townsend after his loan spells and initial showings for us, but he just seemed to regress the more he played and ended up losing all his pace and trickery, shame really.

Tbf, GKN had a chance to make an impact at that level of club with Burnley and did fuck all.

I see he got 20 minutes yesterday, sounds like he's still got the necessary, love to see it.
