I always love keeping track of how our alumni are doing. There’s fewer this season due to Swansea’s relegation but we still have a good showing including several youth products (in bold).

David Button

Huerelho Gomes

Charlie Daniels

Jaden Brown

DeAndre Yedlin

Adam Smith

Kyle Walker

Ryan Fredericks

Good starts today for two of my favourite Spurs youth products, Smith and Daniels at Bournemouth, starting as Bournemouth defeated Cardiff 2-0.

Another youth product, Townsend, played the full 90 as Palace recorded a good win 2-0 away to Fulham.

Pritchard, also from our youth system, didn’t fare so well and was hauled off at half time during Huddersfield’s 0-3 loss to Chelsea via a dodgy penalty to make it 2-0 as they were on the ascendency.

Kaboul was not in the squad, while Gomes remained on the bench, as Watford defeated Brighton 2-0.

Sigurdsson was substituted early in Everton’s 2-2 draw with Wolves due to a red card for Jagielka.

Huge congratulations to David Button, who on Saturday, 2 months shy of his thirtieth birthday, kept a clean sheet in his maiden premier league start after a career of being a reserve goalie for primarily lower league sides. He left us after not breaking through, dropped into the championship, and has played in all of the top five leagues now with many of his loans from Spurs taking him to the conference, league two and league one. Won’t get the same attention as Harry Kane’s rise but deserving of equal praise for his determination in finally breaking through at the top level.

In his second appearance, tonight, he had no chance on either goal.

Not a bad season generally for our youth products, with Daniels continuing to be first choice left back at Bournemouth and Adam Smith replicating this one the other flank until his bad injury. Like Button, Ryan Fredericks has finally broken through in the top flight, with four appearances at West Ham, while Pritchard and Townsend continue to be key attackers for Palace and Huddersfield. Jaden Brown has just joined Huddersfield where hopefully he can build a career.

Button was supposed to be the next big thing once upon a time. had high hopes for was gonna be our next ENO.

looking at the list... the only one I would give another chance would be Smith. For the rest... I feel they just ain't good enough anymore, including Walker this season.
