Your Tottenham glasses are strong. Everton were most affected, (Howard' Kendall team) also, you forgot that Everton were denied CL place when Liverpool won it. They came fourth that year.

But your point remains.

I didn't discount the Kendall years, gawd we regretted that when we coulda shoulda etc.

We were there or thereabouts despite the board shambles at that time.

Arsenal were asleep unless you count a league cup victory before their 1989 league title. One of their gap decades.

Mate. This is bad. Why would you say he is not a Spurs supporter?

We have many fatalists.

It doesn't make him a fan of another team.

That's weak.

It's not in the slightest.

All season this clown has been popping up to slag off the club, the players and our achievements. You don't hear a peep when we're playing well and challenging, but the first loss and he's there having a pop, someone else wins, he's having a pop.
This isn't fatalism, it's wummery and it certainly isn't support.

To actually question the evidence of our building towards a sustainable success, despite the overwhelming evidence that that building has been occurring for the last 15 years, is proof positive that he's either a halfwit, a wind up merchant or a troll.

Whatever he is, he's no "supporter."

Look up support in the thesaurus; To back, maintain, proponent, defender, ally, patron, adherent.

In every post I've seen, not a single one of these synonyms could be applied to this person, not one.

Still weak?

I have no idea on him.

I do know I'm happier to be a Spurs fan than a scum fan.

I'm happy at was is going on our pitch and what is going off it.

I love Poch. I love our team.

But I will always want more than them.

I'm not interested in trolls. Whatever's. He is, he isn't. Couldn't give a shit.

I still say I want a trophy.

I don't want A trophy, I want all of them and I want us in there winning all of them for a long time. If missing out on a few now is the price that then so be it, I've witnessed a hell of a lot worse in my time.

Basically I'm not going to settle for a slice of the pie every now and then, I want us to have the whole pie, with a little doled out to the rest just to keep things interesting.

See contes answer to the loss is to say he needs to buy more players and of course he will be bankrolled

We've got one of the sharpest knives in the pantry, and we're still not getting a slice of the pie.

You want the whole pie? Then you must want billionaire owners. Doesn't look like we're going to even get a nibble without that.

It's what I want Spurger, not necessarily what I expect. I can assure you I'm grounded in reality where that is concerned.

As Bill Nic said, it is better to fail aiming high than succeed aiming low, and we at Spurs have set our sights very high, so high in fact that even failure will have in it an echo of glory.

We might not get the whole pie, but we won't go hungry, billionaire owners or not.

No they weren't, they played in the CL but got knocked out of the qualifying round. It was actually Everton coming 4th and Liverpool winning the CL that prompted UEFA to put in the rule that fucked us when Chelsea won it. I'm pretty sure that we are the only team ever to have missed out due to that rule.

We're starving for success. Our ribs are showing.

I can be patient a little while longer though, as we're doing all the right things. We're just a lot more vulnerable than the rest of the top six as we don't pay out fortunes to our stars.

This season has turned out to be both a great success and a great failure. Everything else is hypothetical.

We support Tottenham Hotspur FC. We're at the mercy of the club with regard to its fortunes. We had a history of horrible mismanagement for about two decades from the mid/late eighties. That explains the lack of cups during that period.

Arsenal FC were managed very well from chairman down, and hired a great coach. They built the club and won trophies. Mid 2000s, Abramovich's money changed the landscape. Chelsea became a financial steamroller, who could only be challenged for major trophies like the PL and CL by United and Ferguson, and later by another financial monster, City.

Liverpool won the CL in 2005, and that was a huge surprise, but they got the chance to do that by getting top 4 in the PL. They were regular top 4 challengers before that. We hadn't had a sniff of top 4 for years.

You reap what you sow; Arsenal did far more right re club management over the long term than we did. Utd did, even Liverpool did. That's why they've won trophies. I won't even talk about Chels and City, beyond saying I look forward to the crash! Just a history review we all know, but just putting it in perspective.

We're in a great place finally! We're actually fucking competing for stuff! The stadium will be a financial and fanbase gamechanger. Levy gets huge credit. We have a brilliant, committed coach with a young talented squad. We will win things, because we're now consistently one of the best teams in the PL. A solid base we haven't had in so long!

I don't begrudge Arse winning the FA cup too much....! They've done things the right way for longer than we have. Also, Chels lost, and the Europa's beckoning for Arsenal.

I am not even sure what this means. What could Spurs be doing differently? What changes must Spurs make - in your mind?

Would you rather be Arsenal or Spurs - right now. One club is on an upward trajectory, and the other club is on the way down.

I get the history, and all that. But, last season is already in the rear-view mirror. All the history in world won't help any team next season.

the thing that is funny is that Chelscum were seen as tired by the pundits....can you imagine if they'd have had CL/EL etc.
we would have one it this season
don't think we will win next year with wembley but need to keep building for the following season

Seriously, I think we need to give out top 4 trophies to reflect the real priorities of teams in the PL these days. Sliding scale...CL title, PL title, Top 4, Europa, FA Cup etc., Many Spurs fans see it differently, and understandably, because, we've won fuck all for yonks and they just want any trophy!

We are undeniably growing and have the clear potential to catch and over take both Liverpool and arsenal in the turnover/wealth category (as their potential for growth is far more limited). It's just it may take another 15 years of incremental growth. You're just a cry baby who wants something now and doesnt understand long term investment is long term. I'm enjoying seeing my club grow and it gives me extra pleasure that you don't get it and feel frustrated unnecessarily. Also glad you were clearly booted from other boards I frequent... ever wondered if the problem is you as you seem as unpopular as ever

Another 15 years!?? So the club has gone a decade without silverware but what is required is more patience and more time in order to obtain incremental growth to surpass a club who itself no longer competes for the major honors? How many decades need to go by before we admit that there is an issue here? In your scenario it would be potentially 25 years with out silverware and that is presented at something perfectly acceptable. The question is why wouldn't we have an expectation of silverware now? Why is that deemed so unacceptable? When lesser clubs such as Sevilla win 5 UEFAs cups in the last decade should we would not be asking why we are not? When far inferior sides like United win 3 trophies in a year and we win nothing why wouldn't we be frustrated by that? I simply cannot understand this stern defence of an Inability to secure silverware.

Out of curiosity, in your opinion, since Poch's arrival at the club, have we been declining and getting further away from winning any honours or are we going in the opposite direction?

Because I dare to have a contasting opinion on the club, there you go.

I talk about the positives and the negatives but seemingly the latter is off bounds for some.

I'm not quite sure how many times more I have to state the talents of our board, playing squad and manager, that is the absolute issue here.

We have an abundance of talent he and are not capitalising on this. We wasted one generation with Redknapp era and unless their is change in startegy the current era could easily go the same way.

I think we are in the same postion as we are during the Redknapp era. I see the same situation at play which is why I want us to avoid the same outcome.
