Interesting. I didn't think it was red at first. But the replays actually lent more weight. Yet VAR has taken the opposite view and decided it's a "clear error".

I don't know how you say it was a "clear error" from those replays.

He never intended to get the ball, very dangerous challenge
. Caught his leg before contact with the ball. VAR working well...for United.

Surprised they didn't even give the ref a chance to look at it again

Be interesting to see if that was referred after the United players went for the referee, that sets a precedent for every red card from next season.

Right call I think. He is going for and gets the ball. His studs aren't up, it isn't that high, and doesn't cause particular danger. It's dodgy but not a professional foul, nor particularly dangerous, nor lacking any intent to play the ball. Not enough for a red in my opinion - I'd certainly be annoyed for it to be given against us.
