In no way am I using this as an excuse for these loses, but we haven't had much luck in these games.
Had Dier's deflected shot gone in rather than hit the post things could have been different on Saturday. Hell, even last year at 3-2 against Chelsea you felt we would come back into it until Matic smashed in the goal of his life.
I couldn't believe my eyes when the ball literally bounced back off the line from Kane's header against Juventus. Going back to the FA cup, there was the ghost Chelsea goal in the 5-1 and the Campbell handball.
There are probably loads more that you could remind me of too where things haven't fallen our way. Sometimes in these knockout games, you do just need a bit of luck, a dubious penalty, an undetected handball or a 50/50 red card for an opponent. Just something big to fall in our favour for once.
