Clatenberg the biggest ****. His treatment of ManU last year at the lane was probably the worst refereeing (Sky even had Jeff Winter on saying how piss poor it was) since Mendes goal at Old Traffor (now who was that....)

It just amazes me how some teams seem to have a licence to crowd the referee every time they don't get a decision going their way. We've seen this so much over the past 5 or 6 years with ManUtd, Arse, Chelski and not at times Liverpool too. I'd love to see a ref have the balls to dish out a yellow card to each of the 5 or 6 players harrassing him, then the next time it happens in the game send one of them off. It really wouldn't take many instances of that happening to the top 4 for their players to change their ways.

And Reina clattering Bale and Bale being penalised for it instead of advantage being played our way and an almost certain 3-1 to us. And we all know what happened after that… Oh, and Scholes getting let off scot-free after clattering Lennon inside five minutes at the Lane.

Whilst I don't think either of our penalty shouts against United actually were penalties, we've all seen ones like that given, and you have to wonder what would have happened if those incidents had happened at our end.

I don't like to blame bad luck and bad decisions, because they've hardly contributed to the same degree that amateur hour defending and poor finishing have, but we've certainly suffered from both.

I agree with B-C. It's the lack of consistency that's the problem, and the sense you get with some refs that they know they've made one bad decision and are looking for an opportunity to even things out. That may not really be the case, but you can't be blamed for thinking it is.
