Absolutely love him as a player, don't think it's realistic though.

I spotted his potential when we played them a year ago and said should go for him in the Summer. Probably too late now.

heh, 40m. Perhaps 'unnamed Chinese club' rates him at that. Like they rate Kalinic at 45m.

£40m, swear prices have just been doubled since the increased TV revenue and China became a thing. Puts more emphasis on the need to develop our own top level talent, as its just not going to be possible to get players on the cheap like we did with Ali and Dier.

I don't necessarily agree in regards to China playing a huge part. The players the Chinese league are going after sort of fit a mold: relatively well-known, established types that can drive some interest in a league where most people have no access to watch the matches.

Players like Alli, Dier and even ones like Nkoudou aren't likely even on their radar. Granted, the TV money is playing a part. Ademola Lookman wasn't/isn't worth 11m at current, and in all actuality he should probably be more in line of what Alli cost us. Same goes for guys like Hogan at Brentford. The TV money has appeared to develop some parity but has also just about doubles players values.

Players like Alli and Dier wouldn't even consider going to China, nor European players in general, certainly not ones at the peak of their careers.

More and more will if the wages are on offer. Talk of Igahlo going, whilst he's petered out in the PL, he's still around 27.

I have a feeling Lookman recently signed a contract extension, coupled with the owner's idea as Charlton as a feeder and development club to Standard Liege.

Yeah but he's right. No one with any ambition will go there, it's all being driven by agents. Just look at all the players going there, mainly the Brazilians who have until now been bounced around the Russian clubs, Chelsea, PSG etc. Mercenaries.

Not yet but the market will tell in the end if they are prepared to keep
pouring money at it. Starts with OAPs and misfits, then a few young South Americans and it will keep rolling. The PL won't have much to worry about for a good while yet though.

You would think so but the money is so huge that a couple of years sets up people for life. Can't believe Oscar is going there at the age of 25. Maybe some Europeans will be tempted since one injury can kill a career so if you can make stupid money for a few years maybe it's worth it to some

the only trouble with any players heading to China is it will be a career ending move. they are buying these players at such high fees and wages, that once a player wants to move, no one will be able to pay the fees or the wages

I don't think it will.

I think it is a PR exercise which will fizzle out when, as expected, no one gives a shit.

But let's see.

Longer term corruption issues and player health issues would be a concern if they become a force. Air quality in china is a massive issue and sucking in lungfuls of it whilst sprinting must expose you to all sorts.

Excellent left foot, but I think he's basically the Italian Ross Barkley. Don't think he's the player we need, thou I do like fiorentinas Federico chiesa think he's amazing.

Enrico's son, they've got hagi's son too, if either are half as good as their fathers they'll be some players

I understand it more from a young players position. You're 1 bad injury away from retirement and younger players might want the long term security of a huge payout. The risk is that they disappear altogether though. Don't know what Tevez motivation is though - can only think it's a massive ego thing.
