I don't really rate him anymore than what we have. He's not really doing more than lamela did in serie a. Plus he doesn't seem to have lamelas work rate

Enrico's son, they've got hagi's son too, if either are half as good as their fathers they'll be some players
Georghe Hagi never really lived up to the fantastic billing served up at the 94 World Cup.

That was the last World Cup where hidden gems were realised under your nose live on tv. Also kids watching in HD/4K will never understand the raw excitement and joy of watching a World Cup where there was too much colour on the screen.

The Brazil shirt looks a bit stale compared to the 1982 footage. Coupled with the commentator sounding like his commentary was coming from the dark side of the moon never mind a different continent.

Sorry just got rather wistful.

Ardilles really wanted Hagi, along with Dumistrescu and Popescu. Of course Maradona was his first choice that summer too, and if the drugs charge didn't come out, it might have happened.

There was some serious number 10 talent on show in that World Cup - Hagi, Stoichkov, Valderrama, Baggio, Raí. I was 9 and it's the first World Cup I can remember - great times.

86 was the real first for me, but I remember being enthralled with the Netherlands at the 88 euros. Amazing team. Italia 90 though....God, world cups were brilliant back then.

Italia 90 was incredible. Watching Waddle, Hoddle and Gazza was amazing. Never enjoyed a world cup as much since.

I was 16 and watching the Bulgaria v Germany game in a Colombia hotel on a massive Big box tv he size of a small room.

Germany scored so I went to the pool. Heard 3 more cheers and returned for the last 10mins to see Bulgaria were winning 3-1. Joined the rest of the Brits at be back doing the Dambusters theme tune to all the German fans. (It was packed) German fans all started shouting 'where are you england?'

I'm Welsh. Good times.

The advent of the 'luxury' player.

Edit: Scratch that he was injured and then retired in the same year. The luxury player nonsense halved his England caps.

Tom Hately who pays for Dundee is the one who gets me. I can remember his Dad (Mark) and his Grandad (Tony) both playing.

Ryan Sessegnon was born in the year 2000. Wasn't that just a couple of years ago?!?

He scored in the FA Cup last weekend....

He's also the first player born this century to score a league goal

Can you take that discussion to the "What the opponents are saying about us..."-thread. AFAIK Bernadeschi didnt participate in the 86 or 90s WCs...

I'm glad I'm not that old. Those are some ancient WCs!
