If we draw Sevilla in this season’s Europa League knock-outs, there could be an issue.

more sour grapes then the emirates.
As a Sporting fan I don't really have the impression that fans flat out hate Eric. Most of the blame is put on the club who although aware that Eric is a class player didn't do much prior to this Summer in terms of improving his contract/setting a bigger fee. They should've done that 2 seasons ago,but at least it made them more aware of other young players who get the improved contracts before they attract bigger clubs. So now both clubs who we activated release clauses for defenders from - Sporting Lisbon and Sevilla - now seem to hate the player and anyone else who conspired against them. Why do these clubs agree to such clauses if they're not prepared to see them honoured?
No worries. Just to clarify my own comment, when I referred to the 'clubs' I meant their leaderships rather than the fans en-masse.As a Sporting fan I don't really have the impression that fans flat out hate Eric. Other hated party is Eric's dad Jeremy who came out almost weekly throughout the Summer in news saying that his boy will stay it's only a matter of day they sign a new contract.
Eric is still a kid so it's not like he forced the deal out on his own and I believe majority of fans get that.
/apologies for off topic, Sevilla seems butthurt
