Tactics - Fazio is a good CB, but not suited to a high line
You're absolutely correct - but your comment is a "what if" hypothesis and sadly is of little benefit to us, Tottenham fans and the word is quite subjective as it depends on who and what criteria you're judging this by.

Soldado, Rebrov and Darren could have been 20+ goals/season strikers had we played to their strengths, perhaps. But we didn't and they weren't, so sadly for us and them they will be judged by their records as the "what ifs" and "could have beens" tend to fade from history.

Similarly, Fazio may now be good and was clearly very good before his spell at Tottenham but that's little/no consolation for the fans who had to watch him perform a 5-point turn (and probably audibly beep to warn oncoming traffic) to turn and chase down an opposition striker.

A) Because it's a football forum on the interweb
B) He doesn't read/care what we say
C) Comments are made here in jest rather than anger

I for one thought he was horrible and reminded me of the good old days of Stuart Nethercott/Vlad Chiriches/Paulo Tramezzani/Noé Pamarot/Goran Bunjevčević/Kevin Scott/Calum Davenport/Ricardo Rocha*
(*delete as applicable).

Edit: Gary Doherty has been omitted from this list out of respect for the talent that is, was and will always be the Ginger Pele.

Did the impaler and fazio ever play cb together for us? The though of it brings me out in a cold sweat

Fazio simply doesn't fit Poch's tactics. Not a bad player, not very good though. Much better than the defenders we had a few years ago. Just nowhere near Toby and Jan

He may not have been a bad footballer, but he was a terrible CB.

**EDIT** My bad- I thought we were talking about Chiriches. But as for Fazio- I think he was awful, too- just in a different way. Vlad the Impaler was/is clearly skilled, but his decision making process with demented. Remember how many times the guy would try to play out of the back and get us into serious trouble?!? Hell, sometimes the guy wasn't even pressured- and he still managed to put us under the cosh. I HATED him. Fazio, otoh, wasn't bad with his choices- he was just bad- period. The guy played like he was on stilts.

He wasn't really, had some good moments with us particularly with Jan in 2014/15, obviously not suited to the way we play but let's no re-write history for the sake of an extreme opinion now.

Twanyid? Extreme opinion? No way. Any grammar teachers out there looking for examples of hyperbole should just scroll through his post history.

is he due back in training with us or is his contract up already?
Thought he had a year left

Suppose it's the same as with Clinton N'jie. Loaning club has had a permanent transfer clause activated.
Would be nice if our official site could inform us though. So many out there that's eager to get their hands on Fazio and Clinton shirts.
