Was a star player and captain of a better team than us before he joined us,
now regular and doing well for a team that we'll struggle with if we face them in the Europa League.
Don't see why people should make fun of Fazio, it's we that have made the mistake playing him in a way he wasnt equipped to.
His career achievements so far pretty much match those of Tottenham Hotspur for the last 35 years.

That mistake was playing him in English football. The mistake was signing him, they wanted Mussachio beforehand but his ownership/price was offputting so they paid the release for the newly-named (2 weeks beforehand..) captain. To say he was 'star player and captain' is misleading. A regular, but not a star, and not a regular captain, but he became (C) when Rakitic left, then he left, and Sevilla banned him from their training ground while calling him selfish for taking the offer from Spurs.

For Spurs, he was generally poor; clearly not suited to the league. Not a bad player, just a bad player for Spurs.

His second touch was often a tackle after losing the ball. He was supposed to be strong in the air but was beaten so often. So slow to anticipate and slower still to get off the ground. Shame.

Note that Chirches is also doing better in Italy. Sometimes it doesn't work out.

Remember the days when we had Fazio and Vlad as our centre back pairing? Reliably backed up by Kaboul. The therapy sessions were probably part of Hugo's new contract.

Still no confirmation whether a clause have been activated or not

Roma made it 10 wins from 10 at the Stadio Olimpico in the league this season. By defeating Cagliari at the Olimpico, Impressively equalled the club record of 13 straight league home wins, which was set back in 1930.

The Giallorossi delivered a fourth straight clean sheet in the contest, underlining the strides the defensive unit have made in recent weeks.

Federico Fazio summed up the victory aptly, pointing out: "We haven’t conceded so far in 2017. That’s an important statistic because it gives the rest of the team confidence. Winning like this is positive.

Fazio simply imperious yet again
Federico Fazio continued his exemplary form this season with another dominant display, in a match where he brilliantly shut down former Roma forward, Marco Borriello - who has a knack of scoring against his former employer. Courtesy of his intelligence, positional awareness and capacity to make the right decisions, the Argentine had all the answers for whatever his experienced adversary threw at him. Moreover, his dominance in the air and hulking strength saw him win an outstanding eight aerial duels.

His vital tactical acuity, which saw him competently switch between playing within a central defensive back two or three, plus his accomplished passing out from the back and inspirational leadership qualities, provided additional highlights from his display.

"As a centre-back he always gets on the ball,” a delighted Spalletti said. “He has time to come out and he’s good with the ball at his feet. He was a holding midfielder at the start of his career. He can play nice crisp passes.”

He added: "He organises the back line. He doesn’t let us down with what he offers. Right now we couldn’t get by without him."

A) Because it's a football forum on the interweb
B) He doesn't read/care what we say
C) Comments are made here in jest rather than anger

I for one thought he was horrible and reminded me of the good old days of Stuart Nethercott/Vlad Chiriches/Paulo Tramezzani/Noé Pamarot/Goran Bunjevčević/Kevin Scott/Calum Davenport/Ricardo Rocha*

Edit: Gary Doherty has been omitted from this list out of respect for the talent that is, was and will always be the Ginger Pele.
