This would be an odd signing for me. I don't watch a lot of Swansea but the game at WHL last year he hardly moved. Don't know if that was him being lazy or just a serious lack of mobility. Doesn't appeal for me especially somewhere like Wembley where you need legs.

Janssen will be desperate to play this season with the World Cup coming up in the summer, so maybe Poch has agreed to let him go on loan for a year to somewhere he will get plenty of minutes on the pitch. Bring in Llorente for a year to cover, and next summer bring Janssen back full of confidence having scored a ton of goals for Stoke or whoever.

Telegraph and Independent now both reporting we've made a bid.

Edit - And the Independent says it is close

Llorente played under Conte at Juventus and also worked alongside Alvaro Morata. Makes too much sense for him to go chelsea

I am going to find out if this is true.

Can't see it!

But stranger things have happened.

There was a rumour down this way that swansea were going to take janssen a few weeks back.

If Llorete is Conte's pal, Swansea are our pals...1/3rd of their XI are players from us. Board level we should have a great relationship.

Count me in for Llorente.

Proven goal scorer. Played in the premiership. Would be happy coming off bench.

Lastly, but most importantly, we can piss the chavs off.

I can't believe we are giving more than Chelsea.

Surely, this window Chelsea have reached a tipping point. How many deals have they missed ? The number of players that rejected is more than those who accepted. That never happens with those money bags. And weird thing is they are the champions. May be money is running out for them seen from their statement about having to loan for stadium.Roman's divorce, shrinking empire & all seems to be having some effect.

Hope we get one over them with Llorente deal

He does not move very much he's not exactly a fit for our system but he's damn good at holding the ball up and being a vocal target with clever movement but its just a very strange move if its true.

While Llorente may not offer top mobility he does offer a plan B if plan A isn't working out. The link may have legs who knows, but he offers experience and proven goals from the bench.

Since 2007/08 season he has never played less than 35 games in a season - just shows his general fitness.
He can do a Crouchy & go till 36.

Considering he spent a lot of last season being completely isolated, his stats were impressive. I'd take him as a back-up/Cup player on a 1 or 2 year contract, but I can't see DL wanting to part with more than £12m--£15m for him.

Llorente, Kane, Sanchez, Toby, Wanyama and possibly Dier in the box at set-pieces if we're chasing a goal at the end of a game would terrify defences.

He's built for the prem and doesn't rely on pacy. He'd probably bang 20 league goals if he started every game for us. Gives us an option to rest Kane in some games which we're desperate for

Wouldn't mind this at all. Incredibly experienced. Phenomenal in the air, good link up play and already a year under his belt in the Prem scoring 15 goals for a lower half side.

Yes he's getting on, but a real experienced option, and a quality one at that, to back up Kane and share some of the work load sounds good to me.

We're a young squad anyway, what's not to like really? We're making plenty of signings for the future, we need to balance that with the short term in mind as well.

One simple question, does he improve our quality in depth? Yep.

If we're this keen on him, I'm baffled as to why we didn't sign him on a free last summer but hey ho.
