I know the Sun have somehow been decent for our transfers this summer, but I really doubt this one.

Tottenham transfer news: Fernando Llorente on Mauricio Pochettino’s radar as Chelsea risk losing another target

MAURICIO POCHETTINO is weighing up a late move for Chelsea-target Fernando Llorente.

The Tottenham boss wants support for Harry Kane and Llorente is among the strikers under consideration.

He is a quality striker still but would not suit our system or want to sit on our bench.

If everyone in the prem lines up to take Conte's targets he may just walk. Liverpool have done their part with Ox, and Utd rocked the boat at bit with Lukaku.

Us stealing Llorente and sealing Barkley may just do it :ROFLMAO:

Never gonna happen though, even if he would be an ideal replacement for Janssen. Great backup and wall breaker off the bench.

I haven't even bothered to keep up with Llorente's transfer rumors, what's the reported asking price?

**** I realize this is a very BC-esque post. I'm too lazy to Google as I try to sift through the shit-show that is the ITK Thread.

So, in Levy's world that's like £10m. And, I'm assuming any deal for Llorente would be accompanied by Janssen being sold (Crystal Palace?).

Llorente would not be a horrible option if we could talk them down a bit. He'd offer goals from the bench and in the spot-starts, something we desperately needed last year. Part of me just feels like we should want better to backup Kane. But, the reality is we're not going to find a younger, established player willing to come in at a reasonable fee and be prepared to sit behind the most prolific center forward in the league (and soon: the worldddd).

The question becomes how much we believe Janssen still can improve? If that's the case, and there is belief in his ability, it makes more sense just to hold on to him and hope he can really turn a corner despite having limited opportunities. That's all fine and dandy from a club perspective, but from Janssen's I personally believe that's an untenable situation.

Tottenham could take Chelsea away from Llorente

Tottenham have launched a last-minute offer for the striker. The blue team had him almost tied up waiting for Swansea to sign Bony from Manchester City to supply him.

Tottenham have launched a last-minute offer to Swansea to snatch from Chelsea the signing of Fernando Llorente . The blue team had practically tied the Spanish forward waiting for the Welshmen to sign Bony from Manchester City to supply him. Antonio Conte leads from the winter market trying to his signing and on Tuesday the clubs approached positions to close an agreement between 10 and 15 million euros.

Everton also wanted to Llorente but Chelsea gave on Tuesday by his signing as it offers the former Juventus the possibility of playing the Champions League.

Tottenham, however, put the deal in check after launching an offer to the desperate to take the player to Mauricio Pochettino's team. The Spurs would be willing to improve the offer of the Blues and would also offer Llorente the candy to play the Champions.
The market closes tomorrow in England and the destiny of Llorente is now an unknown. He will leave Swansea for London almost in all probability but there is doubt if he will do it to play to the orders of Conte or of Pochettino.

Thing is he has history with Conte and we know Chelsea pay higher wages for squad players especially. Just can't see it even though I'd like it.

I actually think something like this would make more sense than Janssen, seeing as Kane is only 23 and looking to be irreplaceable.

I'd be much more confident with Llorente coming on over Janssen if we needed a goal, and doubt he'd do any worse than Janssen if needed to start. An older, experienced player seems a good fit as Kane backup/plan B, as should be less needy in terms of starts and confidence building.

Just look at the goons with Giroud. Without him vs Leicester they'd probably have 0 points right now. Llorente could fill a similar role.

As long as the wide player still happens this wouldn't be too bad. He is leagues better than VJ. Not sure about 15m tho.

If Janssen was going it's actually a smart transfer.
Worried about not getting pacey attacking player as is though and if this was happening I feel like it's way too much to all come off in less than 24 hours.

Well worth putting in a £25m bid just to push the price up for Chavs.
If they accept change it to £5m and sissoko?

Yes, please...
Llorente: 15 PL goals last season with Siggurdsson, Routledge, Naughton,Carroll around him.

Surely he can match same levels or be better with Eriksen,Alli,Son,Rose,Aurier,Trippier around...
