About his signing, not the sale.

From The Guardian;

"“When we signed Heung-min Son [from Bayer Leverkusen], it was at the end of the window [in August 2015.] We tried from the beginning. First of all, he said no. Then, he struggled to play and was upset with the manager, they opened the door and we signed him. Because it was an opportunity. Understand the difference. Fernando Llorente was an opportunity on the last day of the window last summer. Yes or no?”"

If we can use Llorente in any way to scupper the other deals, as long as we get a replacement, I'd offer him around for what we got him for. The lack of profit would be nowhere near as beneficial as Dortmund pulling the plug because they couldn't get a replacement for Aubameyang.

L'Equipe reporting this morning that we were still pursuing a swap deal for Batman and Nando late yesterday evening.

Seems highly unlikely but you never know, maybe Chelsea would prefer Nando over Giroud and it might mean that the latter would go to Dortmund instead of MB if we can convince him to come to Spurs.

Very much doubt it though.

That bald headed tosspot on SSN got it right I think when he wrote this off by saying he's hardly going to want to go from being Morata's understudy to being second fiddle to Harry Kane. But who knows what he's actually thinking. I guess time will tell.

Totally agree. The bottom line is that it would take some sort of witchcraft by Poch to convince MB to be Kane's backup/occasional starter rather than start weekly for a top club like Dortmund.

If we're planning of getting rid of Llorente today, surely it has to be done before the game against United? If he's on the bench, no way a deal happens after the game...Right? o_O

Is Bats capable of playing behind the forward, or wide forward role? If he was that would surely ensure more playing time etc

He's certainly capable, but Poch has shown that he's willing to play two up front together before. Quite a few times he tried Jansen with Kane together last season before he gave up on him.

If we are still trying to do a swap for Batshuayi that suggests that we don't really have anyone else lined up, so I suspect Llorente will be going nowhere unless that deal is somehow done.

Wonder if this could be another to be swayed by Poch? A quick call and Bats might change his tune.

As I say, if Bats was willing to listen to Poch then I would back our boss to be able to convince him.

Equally, if Chelsea decide they want Llorente instead of Giroud - which isn't a crazy idea seeing as how badly they wanted him in the summer - then it will cause problems for the whole circle of transfers including Aubameyang to Arsenal.

The trick then would be for Giroud and Dortmund to want each other and agree and for Bats to be convince to come to us.

I know it's super unlikely but I'd personally love it if we could finally land Batshuayi. I was banging that drum big time before he went to Chelsea.

I still think Arsenal will sign Auba regardless of the situation, they may have to end up paying Dortmund more however.

If I'm honest, I don't think there's anything we could realistically do to affect the Aubameyang deal, but having him at the training ground etc and then not signing him would probably lead to their mongrel fans tearing down the stadium at the weekend
