We're supposed be challenging for top 4, competing in domestic cups and the UCL, we need depth 100% it would make no sense to lose and attacker and not replace him IMO
Moura for Llorente is an upgrade imo.

Would allow us to move Son upfront when needed without losing too much on the flanks.

Don't get me wrong i'd like us to upgrade on Llorente by getting another forward, but it certainly wouldn't be the disaster some are making out if we didn't replace him.

I keep seeing stuff like this. Moura is right footed and plays where his manager tells him to.

Well I just meant that for most of his career he has only really played on the right.

Doesn’t mean Poch won’t play him elsewhere...

Yes we do in Son. And I’m saying if he gets injured then we’ll be in trouble.

We will be in trouble if Kane and Son get injured yes. How far do you go? Do we account for Kane, Son, and the new backup striker getting injured?

All I'm saying is, it's a waste of time having a backup that can only play one position. He'll rarely play and when he does he'll be out of form, he'll be called a waste of time and people will be clamouring for the next one.

Does Eriksen usually hog the touchline and ping crosses in then?

And isn't Moura and inverted wide player (a left-footer who players on the right) so I hardly see him as a pinging in crosses old fashioned winger type.
FFS it was tongue in cheek! I was suggesting how ironic it would be to get rid of one of our players that could actually head in crosses just when we could change our style.

We'd be in the same trouble City would be in without Jesus and Aguero, Arsenal would be in without Auba and Lacazette, Chelsea would be in without Batshuayi and Morata etc.

There's only so many players you can have in the event of injury. Likelihood is good players don't want to play directly second fiddle to Kane. So then we're left with buying someone crap.

I'd rather we just used Son as backup if we can't get anyone decent.

And the backups back up......You can only have so many players in your squad. If Llorente goes Moura and Lamela can have CL spots. If Kane were to get injured Son can play the front man with Moura or Lamela replacing Son

If it's been mentioned that a replacement has been found, which isn't Son, then backed up by Herc then why is there so much negativity about the thought of us bringing someone else in?

Whilst transfers can take ages, we've seen them go through quickly too. Wouldn't surprise me if it's someone not very glamorous but from a smaller team and is happy to have the prestige of playing for the club over guaranteed starts.

I do have to admit I've had that horrible thought that we'd finally bring in a quality winger and then Kane wouldn't be available...

A bit like when we bought Lineker and then sold Waddle!

A&C said he'd be amazed if we signed a striker. I'm not sure anyone directly said we'd sign a like-for-like replacement...

I get what you're saying and I know wages etc are the main reason for keeping them happy but the difference is noticeable in each of those teams front two compared to our back up.

The predicament we're in is that none of those above, except maybe Aguero is world class whereas Kane is arguably the best striker in the world. Having two 7/10 strikers is easier than having one 10/10 and one 3/10. That's the price of having world class players I guess. It's a necessary evil that rotation isn't going to be possible.

Best case I suppose is a young striker happy to learn and improve.

We should bite Chelsea's hand off for anything north of £20m. He's 33 in Feb, and I guarantee Son would be more productive up front than Llorente if Kane got injured.

Llorente is immobile and doesn't suit our style of play at all. An interchanging front 4 of Lucas/Eriksen/Dele/Son would be more dangerous than trying to pigeon hole Llorente.

We wouldn't even need to buy a replacement this window. Then could turn our attention in the summer to finding a better backup to Kane.

Sorry mate, but do you really think anyone will even offer 15m for Llorente.

Not even Roman would sign off on an 20m deal for a 33 yr old.

If we got 17 mill from chelscum for Llorente why can't we just buy carrasco from AM. Fits poch's criteria, wouldn't fit Levy's budget though.

I would guess our only chance of recouping the transfer fee for Llorente is to sell him in January window to some desperate mugs who will pay above his value for him.

I’m indifferent about him to be honest. Liked the fact he offers something different from the bench but in reality he’s not actually offered it as we don’t switch our style of play when he comes on and play to his strengths. If we can off load for a profit and get someone else in I’m ok with that. A young German forward who loves Spurs for example

It's common knowledge that we don't like them and they don't like us. It'd be worth seeing Levy and Abramovich matched in a bout of greco-roman wrestling to the death in a mud pit.

So I'd be surprised if we were willing to deal with them or they us. Lets be honest, it's highly unlikely isn't it?
They probably like Levy a bit more after he saved them £20m and 5 months wages while rehabbing an injured player
