Definitely wouldn’t sell Nando in this window. With the injuries we have and son going the Asia cup he will be needed and to be fair Llorente has looked good in the few chances he has had this season, scored 4 goals in 2 starts iirc and has caused problems to the opposition when being on as a sub

Thinking slightly outside the box, how about a short-term deal for Josef Martinez from Atlanta? His scoring record in the MLS is pretty unreal, though of course it is a very different league to the PL.

He last played a match over a month ago, and Atlanta's first CCL match is still a month away. Can't imagine he'd even be fit to play...

He'd crossed my mind as well, due to the Spurs connection with their FO. A bit on the small side, though.

If we're gonna play a genuine CF while Kane and Son are out, Llorente is gonna be the man, no two ways about it. No matter who you wanna bring in, Poch wouldn't play em till they were up to speed anyway. By that time, hopefully barring injury (ffs) Sonnys back.
Llorente may not have ripped it up since he's been here. But maybe knowing he'll be playing consistently for the next few weeks, may see the best of him. Or he might just be crap, I dunno.
Either way, he's gonna get some playing time.

There are players poch would play straight away we just won't buy them.

He’s not going to Barca .He’s going to Inter in swap deal for Icardi. Apparently he only wants CL football while Fernando is dead set on playing in the Europa...

Think today showed two very worrying things:
  1. Llorente isn’t the player he used to be and is not good enough to play as a lone striker (still think he can add value as a 2nd striker knocking he ball down for others)
  2. Poch hasn’t seen enough from Sterling to think he can add value to the first team
We need to get somebody in who can do a job as a lone striker even more so with the worry on Dele pulling up with a dodgy hamstring

It's pretty worrying that we did really setup the side to play to his strengths, and he still struggled. I would have thought those long balls in to him would have been his bread and butter given the size advantage he had over Odoi, Le Marchand and Ream, but nope. I think the issue is he's got little to no mobility, his leap is basically gone and his touch when he did win the ball was nothing short of terrible. Missed a couple of golden chances which he simply has to convert and just doesn't look physical enough to lead the line any more.

Other than that, he was wonderful.

Sometimes players put in performances that are just like playing with ten men and today was one of them. He honestly didn’t do a single thing right the entire game. He didn’t hold up the ball at all, every lay off seemed to go to Fulham player, he was flaky in air, made no runs, didn’t press with any mobility and scored an own goal. It’s right up there with one of worst performances I’ve seen from a spurs player.

He was good when younger but sadly his time in PL is long gone. It’s a negative him starting now and anyone else in the entire squad and youth squad would be a better option at number 9.

He's just playing with 0 confidence which is the main problem. Reminds me of Soldado, though Soldado was at least excellent with his touch/technique and able to pass the ball around. Llorente offered just about nothing.

I disagree we set up to play to his strengths. Their were hardly any high crosses for him. Be played shit but we still tried to fit him into our way of playing. I think we need to give Janssen the run out

We attempted 32 crosses this match. Two went directly at his head. The one he managed to deflect from his head to his shoulder. The second he almost completely missed.
