Always liked Collina. One of he best refs the game has ever seen.

As for the crackdown on holding at corners, good. the treatment Kane received during the Tunis’s game was something that should be seen in a WWE ring, not on a football pitch

I don't know if he was that good, I've seen him have a few bad games but he oozed authority. Even if he got things wrong you believed he was right. no one ever tried to intimidate him and that was good. Referee's need to be stronger, the one for us against Panama got fed up with their antics and started to show a few yellow cards.

I'll be interested if this crackdown filters down to club games this season or if it will show up as an over reliance on VAR.

It didnt help Serbia who are now out.
The refs need support and at present they have to make the decision weather it goes to VAR.

I'm all in favour of VAR and just wish it was going to be used in the PL next season. I suppose we'll have to put up with the wrestling in the box at set pieces for at least another year though.

The errors were poor (Serbia one was an absolute joke) but hood thing is that they're admitting to their mistakes
