Everyone on here would be livid if Spurs didn't get a PK for this.

This is the problem when you slow things down and freeze frame them, Everything tends looks more dramatic and and gets over scrutinised. Players don't play in slow motion nor do they stand still on the pitch they play in real time and in this case the defender has a split second to react to the ball.

The natural movement to block the ball requires you to move your arms because you are extending your body therefore your hands are going to be away from the body in some capacity, if you have ever played football then you will know this.

I knew this was going to happen and called it after the Danny Rose incident against Man City, they're going to start giving penalties for nothing handballs and look what's happened, they've backed themselves into a corner now.

Absolutely...looking at a single photograph or a slow motion replay can give a totally false perspective to real time action. Players will have to have their arms strapped to their waists soon in order to avoid giving away a penalty.
Perhaps the handball law was a little vague before but this has taken it to the level of insanity....add it to the VAR and you are witnessing the slow death of football as an entertaining and thrilling sport.
Defenders will simply be used as targets by strikers inside the box...the nearest one will have the ball kicked at them, followed by frantic calls for VAR to award a handball decision. The "beautiful game" will tragically become the "embarassing farce".

Yes? That's pretty much been the expectation and standard for many years.

But you can’t run like that. It’s 100% natural for arms to be out a little bit. She had run to get a block in, so her arms were actually naturally positioned.
If she was standing still with arms out wide then I agree it’s a penalty.
This is actually more ball to hand because of the distance. You can’t move in 0.05 seconds!!

Where else should the players arms be when the shot is blasted towards her at near point blank range? Same thing happened with Sissoko. Big games getting decided by ridiculous handball calls.

Yes I'm bitter.

This wasn't the same as Sissoko at all.

Sissoko has his hand out in an unnatural position as it was sticking out, the Japanese defender didn't have time to put her hands anywhere.

Out of curiosity I looked up the next World Cup in 2023 to see where it's being hosted and so on, only to see it hasn't been decided yet. Decision date is March 2020, all ten candidates are non-European which makes sense.

But really, Russia get 8 years to prepare and Qatar 12 for a 32 team tournament, yet the hosts of a 24 team tournament only get three years to prepare? Seems very weird.

I suppose a South American tournament would be a nice next step to grow the women's game, but I'd love to see it in Australia.

Should be a good match.

Been gardening in the heat all day since 8 a.m (of course a few checks on any player incoming movement), bit sore, so just jumped in a bath that stung like buggery, so now it's time for a meal and hopefully a good game of football to boot.
