Messi suspended 4 int'l games. Argentina only up 2 points on 6th place in WCQ with 5 matches to play. Oh boy.

Also, was just reading an article that Liverpool has hired a private jet to get their Brazilian stars back ASAP. Apparently the last break, they split one with City, Chelsea and PSG to bring all their players back. Not a bad idea, to be honest. Of course they are all money bag clubs but its smart. Hopefully we can afford to do this once we get in the new stadium if we have to get someone back as quickly as possible.

How much would a private jet be? I'm surprised they'd even have to split it to be honest, and not just have one each going to each city...

Would have guessed you could get one for around £100-200k which is a week's wages for some of those players

I didn't realise they had video referees now? France just had a goal chalked off

Spain just had goal that was ruled off side on the field given by the video ref. Took about 20 seconds.

The future is now.

Without video refs this game would currently be 1-1 and a totally different game.

Quite noticeable how many supporters are staying right to the end, in a friendly when France are losing 2-0, compared to Wembley, The Emirates, The Olympic Stadium or even WHL.

Either cultural differences or a decent transport system. Or their mistresses won't be available for a couple of hours so nothing better to do.

They may have reached the right decisions - but I hated the process. It just felt so unlike football, and then the way the crowd fed off the decisions, it just felt wrong.

Idiot crowd didn't know how to compute it...

"our goal disallowed and there's given, boo!!!"

"but it was obviously the right decision?!?" [tumbleweed]

They'll soon learn to berate the lino that gave the wrong decision.

Also I'm sure there'll be some refining, like maybe a light system (red for no goal green for a goal) which would add to the spectacle.

Or an on screen thing like at the cricket.

Idk where to put this but i'll put it here as it has to do with a world cup. The fact that we have to cohost with Mexico and Canada is crap. We have the ability to host a WC at moments notice without having to build a thing. And we have been forced in the past to do so. We have the facilities, hotels and mass transit already available. Why do we have to share but Russia and Qatar dont? Fuck that.

Also, the fact that we might not even get the 2026 WC because our current abhorrent president might offend FIFA nations is downright absurd. Russia is allowed to invade sovereign countries, prop up dictators who gas their own citizens, murder political opposition leaders, and has zero semblence of a free press. Qatar is allowed to commit human rights atrocities in the building of stadiums, bring in foreign workers and pay them nothing to build said stadiums and bribe their way into a WC. And none of this offends FIFA? Oh but someone saying racist things offends? I call bullshit.

Oh and this whole 46 team WC with 8 asian teams and 6 SA teams can do one. You're telling me Asia and the middle east has better teams than South America? Fuck off Infantinno. Quickly turning into just another Sepp Blatter.

It's going to be very trick to co-host with Mexico once that wall is up surely?

Silly Fifa.

The secretary on interior essentially said the wall will be on Mexico's side:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:. It's just preposterous, I can't help but laugh hysterically. Trumps groundbreaking ceremony at the wall will be something else:LOL:

I notice Deschamps appears to have gone with his idiotic 4231 with Sissoko starting and and Pogba and Matuidi in a CM2 ? Lloris also cost them the game with one of his "distribution" moments. Wonderful finish by Tiovonen though, if you get a chance have a look. Both Sweden goals scored by French based players (both at Toulouse) ironically.

We(Ireland) got away with one yesterday v Austria. Awful for 70 minutes until Johnny Walters saved us again. The man gives everything for the shirt. Leaves nothing on the pitch.

We didn't do enough to win it but I thought we were a bit unlucky to have the 2nd goal disallowed.

Their generation inspired by Cruyff's Ajax all retired. The Dutch league has lapsed, there's no one to find and train the next Gullit, Van Basten, Bergkamp, Seedorf... etc, etc.
Ajax reaching the final of the Europa league could be the beginnings of another revival. We'll see.
