Yeah, it was poorly timed and he probably deserves a 6-8 game ban but it was an accident at the end of the day and it's a contact sport so.....

Also, wasn't Colemans leg in mid air at impact so the force of the break came from him kicking through Taylor's leg wasn't it?
Coleman was about to strike the ball, so yeah, his momentum was going forward which makes it worse for him if there's a shitty tackle coming right through his shin.

It'll be interesting to see how long they ban him. To be honest I kinda think the bale one was just as bad if not worse. It's only because he doesn't make much contact but he flew into that tackle at full tilt and was two footed (which Taylor wasn't) and was even higher.

It was a horrendous injury but obviously not intended, Taylor will be gutted also

If the guy who Bale tackled had his foot planted, it would have been a leg breaker. It wasn't though, and bale got away with it. Taylor's was the same, but the momentum of Colemans leg did the damage.

I managed to pause the video you posted right at the point of contact and Seamus is actually striking the ball so lots of forward momentum but Taylor is very high, well over the top of the ball, shockingly bad challenge. At first viewing I thought he was just late but seeing it again like that makes it look even worse as it's so high.

I thought Bale very lucky to stay on the pitch for the tackle on John O'Shea, looked very reckless and high, only thing that saved him was that it was a goal chance, very poor challenge though. Hopefully Seamus Coleman will make a full recovery, he'll be a massive loss for Ireland and Everton as well.

Gutted after tonight but to ban slide tackles when some of the best and most watchable defending is a perfectly timed slide tackle. A tackle like that is a straight red and so bad that it deserves a lengthened ban.

The best defenders were rarely found sliding on their arse, King certainly rarely had to, Dawson on the other hand....

The trouble is as soon as you leave the ground shit like this can happen and is far far worse than slapping a player, putting your head on theirs or any of the other silly hand bags stuff that FIFA want to get their knickers in a twist about. It really is time the game dragged itself out of the dark ages. Good defending has very little to do with sitting on your arse.

Christian Pulisic is incredibly good. 1 goal and 2 assists Could be 1 and 3 assists depending on the scoring of the first goal. Insane.

I severely overestimated Honduras and underestimated us. Holy hell.

Horrific injury for Seamus - double fracture which could take 6 months to a year to heal.

I remember when Terry Medwin had a similar injury and never played again. Hopefully, the medical techniques for this kind of fracture have much improved since then.

I hoped Everton could sneak into the top 4 discussions but can't see it happening without Coleman. Their fans must be murderous.

Taylor was good once, when Swansea were new to the PL. He's utter garbage now. Didn't he have a season-long lay-off at one point?

We have to make another run at getting him! It is most likely impossible now, but we have to try everything before we concede defeat

Depends on the defender.

One of the finest sights in football was Dave Mackay sliding what seemed like half the width of the pitch to take the ball off some "wizard" and turn defence into a cause for a crowd celebration close to what scoring a goal felt like.

It's not the type of tackle, it's how well it's done.

Especially as he suffered a similar injury.

Honduras is +700(7/1) tonight. I hate to do this as i am American. But thats just like stealing candy from a baby. Easy money. Sadly, I do not see any way we pick up anything from this match. The fact of the matter is, there is very little in the way of international quality on this current team. Outside of Pulisic, Cameron and Brooks, we've got very little of anything in the current squad. We need 4 points out of these games to even remain in contention. Wont happen. We're out of the world cup.

USA 6 - 0 Honduras

Yeah thanks for the tip, you owe me and I know where you live :ninja:

I genuinely don't think Taylor is a nasty player....not very good but not nasty.
Awful tackle and injury.

On a positive note I was at the game and it was nice to have a weekend drinking and having a laugh with opposition fans. No nonsense to be seen at all. :)
