Scotland have appointed Malky Mackay as interim manager for their next game in November. Back from the cold.. well, it's cold in Scotland too..

And maybe Bruce Arena is stepping down later today with Tab Ramos taking over temporarily.

Where did you see/read this? He should walk out holding hands with Gulati and should try this method of "stepping down"

Gulati “I don’t plan to resign. It’s not the right day to talk about my personal future plans.”

What an utter fucking slimeball. It’s clear from his comments today he’s seeking reelection and is going to use the World Cup bid in March as leverage to try to remain in office.

No doubt.

I've generally seen him as a positive for the USSF, but it's time for him to move on. Hate to say that about a fellow alum.

You wanna know how big of slime balls he and his cronies in MLS are? Have a look at this thread. thttps://twitter.com/benjaminlforman/status/919019462019366912

I've known that mls essentially controls us soccer for a while but forgot the details. This spells it out. It's quite a disgrace. Even moreso of one since no reporter will actully report on it because if they do, they'll immediately lose all access to any club or the national team.

I was actually already aware of this. It’s disgusting. MLS and it’s billionaire dual NFL owners have no real interest US soccer devolpment. Why grow that shit tier league in status and create competition for their NFL franchises that are worth billions? Garber is just a front man for Bob Kraft, Kronke, Hunt and Arthur Blank. All of them are well publicized pieces of garbage who’s sole interest is sucking US soccer dry for every cent they can. I’m just glad that Kronke also owns Arsenal.

Then why start the league at all? And you're having a go at Lamar Hunt? The man who single-handedly kept MLS afloat and whose commitment to the game led to the US Open Cup being named after him?

Sorry...but this line of thinking is completely flawed.

Why am I still having this argument with my mate regarding Messi, he's saying that he needs to have a massive world cup yo be considered amongst the greats o_O

lol just fek off

I completely agree with the people who say he needs to have a great world cup to be considered one of the greats.

He was Player of the tournament in 2014. Job done.

Any predictions for what you think the draw will be? I'm going for this:

Denmark V N.Ireland
Rep. Ireland V Italy
Sweden V Switzerland
Greece V Croatia

I'm sure Italy will get the easiest fixture. FIFA will be desperate for them to get to Russia.

MLS the way it’s currently configured is actively hindering US player development. It’s main goal seems to be lining the owners pockets with as much money as possible and not league and player development. And I was having a go at Clark Hunt. His father died a decade ago. But go ahead and defend Bob Kraft, Stan Kroenke, Clark Hunt and Arthur Blank.

I'm sure he did. And he'll discount that Player Award as it wasn't deserved or something, even though he's never sat through all of Pele's world cup games to see how good he was in major international competitions.
Like you I can't see how you can say he isn't one of the greats just because his country haven't won anything with him in the side. He's played over 500 competitive matches, scoring over 400 goals, but some people don't consider him a great because his team lost one match in a final?

Plus he's won the CL numerous times and is one of its top scorers of all time. In my opinion the CL is a higher quality competition than the World Cup has ever been, and more of an achievement to win.

Lallas was brilliant at half-time of the Atlanta/NY Red Bulls game last night.
Completely tore the fundamental structure of US football to shreds without going far enough to get himself fired.

Question is, what do you classify as the easiest? I'd put Sweden a touch above the Irelands and Greece but it's a toss-up really.

Got to be Northern Ireland for me. They deserve huge credit for what they've achieved, but they've not beaten anyone of near Italy's quality and in truth have had some astounding luck with their qualifying draws in getting teams like Greece at their top seed for Euro 2016 qualifying who were much better on paper than in practice.

From easiest to hardest:

Northern Ireland
Greece
Republic of Ireland
Sweden
