Fitting that Portugal won it really. Just like the tournament they've been gash throughout, right up to the bitter end.

Fair play.

Looks like Portugal learned a lot from the final they lost on their own soil in 2004. It's not about counting the moments it's about making the moment count. Parabens Portugal!

Gutted for the French. After all the shit they've had in their country it would have been nice for them to have something to celebrate.

Upside of this is the Euro champ will be playing the Copa Champ. Good luck with that Portugal. Wish it was Argentina but Chile will still put a whoopin on this shit team.

Portugal were not shit. They knew their strengths and played to it. I dont think they have a plethora of exciting players. I thought nani was exceptional in this tournament... pepe was outstanding tonight.

bad format, crap final (as always), fitting that portugal won after the disgusting play by payet, although if France had actually played tonight they'd have won.

They improved massively after the group stages.

It was low, hard and moving away from him. No chance.

I guess I will disagree as I've seen him save more difficult shots at club level. Look, not saying it's his fault as most GK's would not be able to save that on their best day. It's a shot that I've seen and come to expect Hugo to save based off his ability. I'm sure he will look at it the same.

They improved massively after the group stages.

The thing is ... were they actually poor in the first two games? They created tonnes but they just did not put the opportunities away. Against Iceland and Austria they ought to have had a hatful.

I thought they were the most resolute and solid team with exception of the Hungary match
