I'm not sure if these have been posted, but the Guardian article is from 6th June 2018, so I'm guessing they're 'new' :

Thought they were interesting. Given we've got an extra season of CL football and Arsenal haven't, as well as Chelsea not having next year, AND we're moving into a much bigger stadium, we're really closing the gap on the rest financially.

I know it's out of date but was suprised that the interest on our debt was less than arsenals.
Also we had a positive debt ratio (more money in the bank than was owed). Think we used most paying off the debt that was due in december.

What shape we are in now is hard to guess but it all looks very healthy.
Next time merson spouts off about selling players to pay the stadium show him this article.

Even with stadium payments, over the next couple of seasons our revenue could go up by £100m a season

To be honest, it's about time we started paying Kane et al, £250k a week

It's not out of date. That's the 'legalish' dates.

Interesting about Chelsea.

I like it that our players are mostly results driven with us paying the biggest bonuses in the prem. Keeps them hungry.
But yes they deserve a payrise and think they will get one.

That would be like asking a three year old to read a thesis on black hole and time warps.

Everybody rabbits on about the stadium costing top end of a billion and how we will be short of money to spend. We have a borrowing facility of 400m and I saw the other day that we have spent 153 of that. If we end up with a debt of 400m I think we can cope with that. Don’t forget we have been building an accommodation block at the same time . Our turnover won’t be far short of Arsenal so we can really compete.

Yeah, I never really got the 'short of cash' argument.

I'm not an expert in property financing by any stretch of the imagination, but doing the simple maths isn't that £50m a year over 20 years?

Stadium naming rights would probably cover £20m/£25m of the annual repayment cost, leaving the club to find an additional £25m a year. That's not a lot for a PL club to stump up. Hell, a couple of academy player sales every year would cover it (didn't Alex Pritchard go for £12m and Ryan Mason £13m :)).

Obviously we wouldn't rely on player-sales, but it puts things into perspective.
