Think it’s worth having a thread to discuss relevant points in that statement and the Nike deal.

So revenue has gone up from £306m to £381m ?

And the debt is £366m ?

Not to clear what the debt restructuring means if someone can explain ?

And the significance of a 15 year Nike deal ?

We got a short-term loan - due in 2022 (I think I have read elsewhere that we are paying interest only right now)

Once the stadium is complete, and we have naming rights, we will re-finance that short-term debt into different longer-term debt with different maturity dates.

I can say on Nike that it's a sliding scale - do well and it quickly shoots up from £30m to £60m. Conversely, Chelsea (seen as a more marquee club by Nike) are the other way round. If Chelsea do 'badly' they're deal reduces to nearer £30m. So it;s not as straight forward as £60 vs £30m.

So the £637m is that basically the max facility like an OD and currently we are at £366m ?

Speak for yourself there’s a lot of detail in that statement worth clarifying and discussing.

"In recent months we have secured an extended agreement with Nike up to 2033"

Surely that's gotta be stadium sponsorship potentially being discussed right??

I'd imagine they would just straight up announce the naming rights if that had been agreed to.

oh I agree, but you've been here 1½years I've been here 8years.

you might as well put it in the levy thread because if it's still going in 3 weeks it will be full of whining about not spending in the transfer window, or in the next 10

The Nike deal is definitely interesting and I don't recall it being announced prior to now. What that says about the quality of the kit and March for the next 15 years I don't know? Maybe a separate thread.

I'll pretend I understood the financials but I didn't really, guess if the underwriters are happy and it is structured so the club doesn't go under like other teams have then it'll all be ok. Cleverer people running it that has seen our club grow significantly can work that one out

I bet Levy is just gonna be relieved when we get to 40pts for the next 5-10 years lol.

No way the sponsor would want to. Why would you want stories on BBC News about Nike Stadium delayed for at least four months amid allegations of contractor incompetance and even sabotage, Tottenham in record debt due to Nike Stadium delays etc etc

To be fair - the debt figure of £366M is nothing that I would worry about.

That's like having an annual income of £350,000 and a mortgage of £366,000 - it should not impact your lifestyle...

Isn’t that profit figure of £163m massive. The biggest in 16/17 was Leicester at 90m and then Arsenal at £45m.

"We have secured.."
The language employed seems like the Nike deal is a rescue loan and not a mutually beneficial transaction between two equals.

That, and 2033. That's insanity unless the club is betting on a crash in world football finances or the club is in severe financial stress.

There’s got to be a down turn in football finances sometime. It can’t keep going up and up

How did you reach that conclusion with 160m in profits?

I'm guessing that the Nike deal is more than just a kit deal, and may have more to do with Nike's sponsorship of the NFL than us. Nike will want something in place to insure that their merchandise stays at NWHL since the NFL will be there for 10 years.

I still think it could be stadium sponsorship.. The statement says 'up to', which to me implies that discussions are advanced but ongoing. Also why would you sign a 15yr shirt deal when football money in 15yrs from now could increase exponentially. Levy has always done 5yr deals and he likes short deals cos he can renegotiate higher deals at that point. 15yrs is too long unless it inches upwards every so often depending on success in the pitch which again isn't coming whilst enic are in charge and levy knows that.
