Spurs have reportedly identified five first team players that will be allowed to leave the side this January.

According to the Daily Mail - Mido, Anthony Gardner, Edgar Davids, Callum Davenport and Paul Stalteri will all be allowed to leave the club if offers come in or as part of a swap deal.

Mido has reportedly attracted the attention of Portsmouth after failing to impress during his return to the club and defenders Gardner and Davenport are thought to have been offered to Watford as part of a deal to bring exciting winger Ashley Young to White Hart Lane.

Edgar Davids has been linked with a potential move to Everton but so far no offers have emerged for Stalteri.

Spurs boss Martin Jol is known to favour having four first choice strikers in his squad and selling Davenport and Gardner would leave little defensive cover at the club so replacements would have to be found before any deals could be concluded.

What wrong with Mido ? I take it he has been stropping again, needs to be a big fish in a small big I think. I think we do need a big bruiser up there for some games, a drogba, yakubu type player with some pace to unsettled centre backs. I personally dsont want Davenport to go, the rest ..............
  2. Phantom
spurs have identified them to who? what a load of bs
  3. tommyt
more bullshit. why even post this rubbish in the first place? i mean really. no qoutes, no mention of replacements, nothing. just some joker had a look at the team and decided that as the above mentioned players have not been first team selections they are all off. Rubbish.
  4. StokeSpur
He's wank and not guna take us to any level never mind the next one.

Take Davenport of the list and add Murphy, Ghaly and Tianio to it.
  5. Pedro
why would we sell gardener AND davenport? perhaps big tone, but no way will davenport be allowed to leave. i think hes done ok - good back up for daws, i would like to see one more CB in.

Mido can go and join Harry's bunch of Misfits - has been nothin short of useless since he came back.

Davids - i hear he helps the youngsters a lot so might aswell keep him.

Davenport/Gardner - Unless he has a replacement lined up, surely gotta keep one of them. Preferably Davenport imo.

    Stalteri - Bye

The Daily Mail. What the ''StokeSpur'' do they know about anything.:-|

Stalteri can join Toronto FC !

We need to keep Davenport/Gardner for the time being, as they are a good squad players !

Davids, should be part of the coaching team

Mido, we need him as the 4th striker. I would love to see Bent join us, but I cannot see him settling for the bench !

We need to send the following out

    Ghaly and Murphy

    Bring back Routledge !
  9. Zootman
The one bullshit story I would love be true is Spurs interest in Heinze

He would be perfect in that he would solve the quality left back issue and central defence back up if required.

When you think about it, if Manure do sign Gareth Bale then they may be prepared to let Heinze go

    Not too bad if correct:-
Gardner & Davenport (unlucky, as he has played OK) for Curtis to come in.
Davids - probably going to Everton on loan (high wages) for Young to come in.
Staltierie (spelling?) - Ekotto on left, Chimbonda on right with Lee as back up for both.
Mido - played like shit since coming back, probably thought we could not do without him.
Either new face or one from the reserves. I like it, but probably not true anyway!!

So you want to sell half the squad and spend another year rebuilding? The truth is we are probably going to do nothing this month cause in terms of buying new players WestHam, Aston Villa and Portsmouth are looking to buy anyone that comes onto the market with any kind of quality and have more cash to offer than us, and in terms of selling we are probably gonna play 55-60 games this season so we need a large squad and cant afford to lose players without replacing them.

Anyway, whats wrong with this team?

    Robbo
    Chimbo Dawson King Lee
    Lennon Jenas Hudd Malbranque
    Defoe Berby

Subs: Keane,Mido,Zokora,Ghaly, Murphy,Tanio,Routledge?,Davids,Davenport,Gardner, Assou Ekotto,Cerney,(not including our new signing for Lens).

I thought Mido was one of our best players last season A real team player. I think you're being a bit harsh on him, he just needs a few games (Like Defoe is now getting)

    COYS:)
  13. Captain Spur
Not so sure, before his injury he was the business but since he has been poo. I know not getting a regular run in the side doesn't help. Fergie sees him everyday in training though, so to go from one of his favorite players to a chump in his eyes, he must have gone down the pan.

I wish people would stop posting transfer stories from the tabloids. These stories are complete speculative boll*cks as per usual, as we all know!

Definitely prepared to let Gardner and Salty go. Davenport is good enough IMO, and one CB backup should be enough, thinking of Dervitte and Mills, who might turn out to be fantastic if we suddenly suffered an injury crisis back there, and I must admit I'm willing to gamble on that.

Salty is 3rd choice right back I guess, with Chimbo 1st choice right, Lee who can play both and Ekotto who would step in on the left, moving Lee right, should Chimbo be out. Not hard to let go, especially with Ifil in the reserves, who I'd like to see more of.

I have faith in Mido as he last autumn proved how good he can be. Just needs to keep f**king fit for a while and he'll get his chances.

Still think Davids can contribute, but more off than on the pitch. Want to keep him at least 'till the summer, then he can decide for himself if he wants to go or stay in a coach/backup player role.

Now, can we please sign Bale and Young? Or if ManUSA grab Bale, Heinze and Young?

The only one i can see with a rondel on his forehead isn't mentioned.....rhubarb. He makes me bitter, he detracts from my viewing enjoyment. Out of position, out of touch, can't/won't head the ball, weak in the tackle, weak in possession, legs which can't do 90 minutes. He will, I'm afraid, cost us silverware. The cost of which when compared to his purchase price will underline the insanity of it all.
I'm now convinced that it's his 'social performance' that ensures his selection. Even without blinkers i haven't seen one sign that he offers anything other than preventing genuine talent(reserves? U19's?) from being developed. His selection ahead of Huddlestone last year looks even more absurd in the light of Huddlestone's performances since; and certainly wouldn't have detracted from those insipid last weeks(Sunderland anyone?).
What has he given us? On Sunday we appeared to be playing with ten men until he was removed.
Bitter, twisted and fed up.....do the media even regard him as 'beyond a joke'...such as the above '5'?
please, someone rid me of the posturing clown.
    (He will cost us)

    sori, rant over.
  17. newbie
are you reffering to Murphy or Teemu ?
  18. Hertspur
It amazes me that people think it's a good idea to keep Davids (reportedly on £50k a week) just to "help the kids out a bit".
£50k a week works out £2.6million a year, meaning (say) £1m till end of season. That's decent cash in my book that could easily be better spent.
For £50k a week he should be our best player, if not, free up the cash for someone who will actually contribute to the team.
What's wrong with our current youth/reserve/first team coaches that we need to pay Davids this much just to help them out?? If he is that good a coach, and wants to stay and coach then get him on a coaches contract, not £50/wk playing one!
  19. StokeSpur
    haha :duh:
