It's been a rough ride for Erik Lamela over the past 18 months, but even his fiercest critics will struggle to argue that he isn't one of Tottenham's best-performing players at the moment, if not the best.

That Lamela goal gets better every time I watch it. I hope it points to increasing confidence as when players lack confidence they tend to shoot straight down the middle.

Lamela looks very good so far this year. I haven't been his biggest fan and we've spent a long time trying to get him to perform consistently. But having overcome a rough injury situation, he seems determined and clear-headed about his opportunities to help the team and himself to more success like Saturday's. Having him and Moura putting Son, Alli, and Eriksen under pressure, with all chipping in with goals and assists, is exactly where we want to be.
