So as we all know football journalism is everywhere and much of it is shite.

From lazy pundits, to cliched reporting to Twitter, Talksport and fanzone style reporting there is no ends to where you can read, listen or watch and be as ill-informed as you were to begin with.

So for people who want to be better informed where do we go?

I don't one form of media or info will be sufficient. No one newspaper, radio station, social media or magazine will cover what a consumer requires completely in any subject.

So if anyone can recommend a sports writer, radio host, podcast etc that they think is genuinely knowledgeable and informative please let me know.

I'll always read anything by Matthew Syed in The Times. Doesn't do scoops but his analyses and insights are often illuminative.

Really not sure about this chap.

He's got a very dubious background of posting on very dodgy websites.

James Richardson.

Not sure about the new show though. Seems a little bit like they're trying too hard to be funny rather than informative.

Generally though Richardson is very good for calling out other pundits talking crap.

Graham Hunter winds me up with his arse kissing in his podcast but he knows his Barcelona stuff. He also seems to know about Man City due to his links with Pep. He was also one of the only journos who seemed to know that Poch was willing to let Walker go as he was questioning his tactics and rotation policy.

I'm a massive fan of Paul Jiggins and Neil Ashton...they're always bang on the money.

Decided to make this my mission to improve the quality of my info sources over quantity.

Started tonight by listening to the Guardian weekly podcast. First impression is they cover a few subjects but not really informed enough and try to cover for their lack of intelligence with low level banter.

Quite reasonable and balanced but not informed enough.

The Totally Football Show is better. Max Rushden is nowhere near James Richardson's level as a presenter.

The one thing Football Weekly has over TTFS is Sid Lowe. TTFS have tried a couple of La Liga experts and none have been very good.
