Wow, 4 in the top 25. 9 in the top 110. And unless I've missed them Lloris, Dembele and Rose don't make the list.... If Janssen can make the list then surely those 3 can!

People are looking at the numbers and not understanding the model.
The exclusive CIES Football Observatory algorithm is based on the thorough analysis of almost 2,000 paying fee transfers. The variables through which transfer values are modelled notably include the performance of both players and employer clubs, international status, contract, age and position.
There will be some anomalies but CIES figures are far more legitimate than the dumb as fuck journalists figures that are plucked from thin air

Doesn't mean the algorithm itself hasn't been largely made up on the spot though.

I'm sure it's more scientific than just a finger in the air judgment, but ultimately it's still based on opinion of what is and isn't important.

Still nice to see our boys at the top of this list. Has been a while since we could say that.

The variance in Trippier and Davies is just bizarre!

Presumably it's based on the fact that Davies has played more premier league games total (I think) and also more at international level.

Still not sure that fully explains the gap though.

Gary Cahill is worth more than Sergio Busquets apparently.
Not that I believe the numbers but it explains in the first paragraph that players in the prem are valued more than those in Spain I guess due to the money available in the premiership

if it's based on the performance of the player and the club as well as other factors such as age, contract length, position and international status then i'm not sure how they've managed to value walker at almost twice as much as rose considering all of those conditions are exactly the same for the both of them(arguably being generous to walker in the first variable listed).
