@Rob - I have no problems with your agreement with Football Whispers, but it'll be annoying if they create a new thread for every new article they post about Spurs. Can't their most recent one just go in the Kane thread, for example.

Maybe there should be a Football Whispers thread, or even a whole section/sub-forum.

You can always put them on ignore. I did, not because of the quality or content of the articles, but because I've lost interest in transfer rumours in general. It's why I hardly post in the ITK threads.

But it was the ITK that first drew me to this site in the first place years ago, and I imagine it's still a major attraction for a lot of people. If it brings in money, attention, and involves another site that is receptive to feedback, I don't see any issue. Especially as you can choose not to see their posts.

*sigh*

The point isn't to avoid it, it's to provide something interesting that people want to read.

You can please some of the people some...........
Hope it goes well and makes a significant financial contribution to the site.

I only took a small look at the site and I just wanted to say that i really like the potential target articles. Really thoughtful and provides a in-depth unique view at the playing style and how the player maybe expected to fit into the club's playing style. This is quality analysis that shows this site isn't about generating clicks through gimmicks and complete bullshit. People don't have to take to the site, but there's no need to treat as if it's some sort of trash rag.

I'll have a look but the fact that the first element of the algorithm is the volume of instances of rumours makes me doubt the algorithm. it has been shown that we are biased towards 'information' that is often repeated and or easily available in the way we think ... see Daniel Kahneman. Making this a key factor, or possibly any sort of factor in an algorithm appears on the face of it to be an inbuilt flaw

Just want to say cheers to those who have made me feel very welcome on here. All feedback is appreciated and I'm looking to find a good balance to suit everybody. To those treating me like Eric Bischoff when he took over as Raw manager, I'm not that bad I promise.

On the contrary, it's all very sensible. However, one does not need to turn it into a science. It's been that way for ages when it comes to separate between true and false rumours. Take for instance the Alderweireld transfer. At one point, we had completely contradictory ITK. JJetset stated he was not signing, other ITK states he was. But as I wrote at that time, forget which individual states what and look at the overall, accumulated buzz of the transfer. That should be enough to assume that he is in fact going to sign. Sure enough, a few days later, Alderweireld signed for Spurs.

I can't seem to be able to click on any pages when I'm viewing the site on my phone, does anyone else have this issue?

If one person makes up shite, the same shite can spread like wildfire across all sites, so this predictor will rise due to the amount of shite mentioned on more sites. This sounds really accurate to me.

You can substitute the word shite for whisper if you want.

As long as you don't substitute Shite for site then it becomes hard to say.

FFS there was a real problem that had to be overcome before he signed and i'm not sure i said he wouldn't sign just that this issue had to be dealt with.It was & he signed ! Not many if any knew about the personal issue so in hindsight i shouldn't have said a word!! I was obviously too close to it.
Just like when we nearly signed Messi.....

Listen, this was no criticsm of you. Everybody knows what you have done for the fans, informing them from where you were within the club. If anything, the post was in fact the opposite of criticism. ITKs report what they know, what they hear. But the fans reading the various updates
have the responsibility to treat it less
as absolute writings in stone and more as interesting guidelines on which to base they owned informed assumptions. Those who can't read ITK with an ability to reflect and put it into a healthy context, maybe shouldn't read it.

Correct you never said that he was not going to sign, but that there were indeed one or two things to overcome.

Been off site for a while, but it's great to be back. Anything happening?

And no, I haven't been in the nick. Thankfully they can't bang you up for what you're thinking. Yet.

:)
