I was astounded by the ratio of fouls on the BBC match stats

Is it just me, or have we had a hard time in the past with refs?

I wonder if Ramos (who comes from a league littered with players falling over) has taken note of this as it seemed we were looking for them a lot more in the West Ham game.

I hope we don't go down that route too much, but it seems odd that we have a ratio of 33:5 fouls in the game yet the bookings don't reflect it.

Was the ref giving us a fair game?

Was Ramos looking for Spurs players to get their share of free kicks?

I thought it might be an error at first. But the Beeb is generally hot on stats.

Looking at the other stats its a fair result but THIRTY THREE FOULS AND ONLY THREE BOOKINGS?

WTF is that all about?

It's quite simple, West Ham were dirty, they went steaming in to every tackle as part of their game plan to get at us, it's exactly the same as Charlton used to.
They weren't trying to break legs but they were intimidating.

Might have been a draw but I thought our players lost some respect today with their constant moaning .

Chimbo should have walked for his deliberate hand ball .

Our players reminded me of Viera and Arsenal with the way they intimidated the ref . Some people on this board might see that as progress but it is not the Tottenham way .

its right, sky showed it during the match.

Did they make all 3 subs?, cant remember. Green didn't comit any fouls (because aparantly taking out Keane when through on goals in fine...) so thats 13 players making about 3 fouls each. But not everyone did. Surly yellow for consistant fouls.

Think, realistically, Riley was definitely trying to even things up after not giving us the penalty in the first half. I admit it's an absurd fouls statistic, but Riley gave everything our way for long periods of the game. He lost the plot

Mike Riley didn't seem to have a clue how to officiate this game...

you just know he was the boy at school with no friends that everyone used to pick on, you know, the kind that used to spend the weekend with his mum

It all evens itself out. Green could've been sent off. Chimbonda should've for his blatant handball whilst on a yellow. Cole could've been yellow carded at least 3 times.

Riley's just a very poor ref.

they were literally kicking us out of the pitch, I don't think we dived in any point in the game.

Neil should have been booked at least once as well. Im sure he put a few on to that 33 tally

no, Thier manager said it wasn't a pen. Keane dived after he saw the ball go wide...

West Ham were just playing dirty, Lucas Neil in particular. Some players were looking for fouls, especially Berbatov.

Indeed, admittedly we could win a few more free kicks, but I don't want to see Ramos playing the falling over lark - simply because; firstly, it's the sort of thing that the scum used to do (and they should have had enough talent not to), and secondly the English refs won't have it - especially against us.

And I still think Green and Chimbo should have gone.

Even if Defoe hadn't fucked up at the end, I wouldn't have been satisfied with Mr Riley. The penalty decision smacked of gaining repentance for his poor refereeing.

I take it you didn't see the match then? West Ham kicked us off the park, at no time were Spurs players diving to gain free kicks. Are you a Gooner? Not sure what your getting at in your post.

Another silly post. Apart from the penalty decision when Keano was peed off when did we intimidate the ref? Even on the penalty decision we didn't go overboard.
