Atalanta is taking Serie A by surprise with a fabulous string of results thus far in the campaign. The season has seen the emergence of a stable of budding stars. And Luca Percassi, the son of the president has met with several Premier League clubs who are interested in onboarding some of Atalanta's young players. Midfielder Franck Kessie has been targeted most strongly by Tottenham, while Leicester and West Bromwich have also taken their look. Juventus has been following Kessie, who could be worth around €23m, for some time too. That price might be too high for Juventus, and one of the deep pocketed English clubs could engage in a bidding war that could force Juve to the sidelines of the negotiations.

Don't want a cm unless it's Kroos or similar ( which obviously won't happen, before one of this site's excitable pedantics wets their knickers), would rather give the game time to winks and onomah

Have you seen pictures of this fella, 19 Years old! I would be checking his birth certificate very thoroughly. That was one hell of a hard paper round he must have done.

Was he the one that nearly went to Sunderland in the summer as Moyes' first signing? I remember an interview where he was compared to Yaya Toure.

Not sure if this is just a re hash but F365 have this:

TALK TO FRANCK

The news from Calciomercato is that Tottenham have lodged a bid for Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie. What’s more, they’ve managed to scare Juventus off by doing so.

The offer from the north London club reportedly reaches around £19.2million, while Juventus are unwilling to go above £17m. It leaves Tottenham at the front of a queue with a decidedly Premier League feel, as Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are also interested.

Ivorian midfielder Kessie has impressed this season, missing just two Serie A games for Atalanta and scoring five goals.

Not against this in principle, just bit of a weird target for our current squad.

I'd rather we concentrate on getting couple of pacey wide players in and another striker personally.

We're more than covered in the engine room and I wouldn't want Winks' development to be blocked by an outsider.

How can you want 2 more wide players? We have Sissoko, Son, Nkoudou now and Edwards waiting to come through.

Edwards isn't a wide player? The members more in the know about our youth players have said he's not the paciest and not really suited to be pushed out wide as would also have to do more defensive work.

Sissoko is an option although I would prefer a proper wide player, Son is letting us down quite a lot and may well be moved in in near future and Ndkoudou is still finding his feet.

I want loooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaads of wide players so we can just player a team of nothing but wingers!:devil:

long term Dembele replacement?
Probably not at 19 million. I'd be surprised if there's anything in this. Though with Carrol likely gone, our only genuine CM players are Dembele and Winks (I wouldn't count Dier and Waynama as CMs or Alli and Eriksen who Poch prefers in more advanced positions), so it could be we're looking at options.

Onomah's a CM, Dier is better there than at CB and more likely to get game time there, and I've never seen Wanyama play anywhere other than central midfield.

Good shout on Onomah. I see Dier and Victor as CDM players, not CMs.

This guy is good. Like really good. Watched this guy and Diawara at Napoli a lot this season, Atalanta and Napoli are great teams to watch. So much potential. But agree with what you guys say, Wanyama is great. Dier too. Dembele is soon back to his best hoppfully and Winks looks like the Real deal.
