Great performance from Mayo, only problem is now I've gone and convinced myself that we are going to do it this year :)

Don't worry, you won't! Well, this has guaranteed I spend my 7th wedding anniversary back in the Crown in Cricklewood where I had the reception, surrounded by my inlaws. And any chance of a baby sitter for the evening goes out the window. Great.

That's brilliant-from Kevin Kilbane apparently

Id love yis to win...I was there in 89,2004,2006,2012 and 2013 shouting for Mayo(Im from Louth by the way)but I cant bear the thought of that Enda Kenny walking round with his hand out shaking everybodies hand like it was him that done all the hard work. And no way could I shout for Dublin...absolute joke the way the G double A has pumped money into them and feck all for everybody else. As an organisation ive grown to hate them the last 10 yrs. Rugby on our sacred pitches,Sky TV....money money money. Wont be long before Amhran na bhfiann is scrapped so all the Orange men and Leo's colorful friends take over!!!!

Must have been the Leinster final in 2010 that started this sourness:)

It is definitely weighted in favour of Dublin in terms of money and population to draw from, the idea of a North and South County Dublin is potentially a fair one but I can't see it happening. When you think they have what, a quarter (?), of the population to draw from they should win it all the time.

In terms of GAA they always been money grabbers but the Celtic tiger years definitely saw them up that to another level. They made a big thing about cutting the prices of the tickets for the Mayo Kerry replay but the cheapest ticket was still 25 euro for a game involving 2 counties with fans based right on the other side of the country. In addition they make all this money and the support they gave to the improvements at the London GAA grounds in London were minimal and it was lucky that the diaspora over here stepped up in a big way to help fund it.

From a purely selfish point of view I'm glad sky have it as it means I get to see a lot more games here in London but it would be a crying shame if they ended up with the sole rights to the semis or the final.

Up the west!!

I was in the pub yesterday afternoon and was watching Galway v Waterford (apparently).

I have absolutely no idea what was going on, but it was pleasing to see so many happy Irish people with sticks.

I was watching a documentary on that match the other week (Scannal). Disgraceful doesn't come close to describing what happened. I could not believe how the Meath player who threw into the net could stand there in the post-match interview and act as though nothing untoward had happened. And shame on the Meath Co. Board for not agreeing to a replay. Egregious.

It's fucking brilliant! Bizzare, but brilliant! My mam is from Mayo.

And I'm a Galwayman.
How's the head this morning?

My mother, father and grandparents are all Sligo but I was born in Roscommon so wear those colours. For some unknown reason my brother was born/found in Galway. My sister was also born in Roscommon but backs Sligo while her son was born in Roscommon and shouts for Mayo. With the mother-in-law and my mother's partner from Mayo and my late father-in-law being Tipp we have plenty of counties covered. Now my head hurts.
