They beat Liverpool though. A minor positive.

But it's still a vile club with the most spoiled brat-like fans you can find.

Thibaut Courtois has criticised Real Madrid team-mate Gareth Bale for not adapting to the Spanish way of life, and says the Welsh winger has been dubbed "the golfer" by the rest of the squad.

Courtois says Bale recently snubbed his Madrid colleagues by preferring to have an early night rather than sitting down to a meal with the other players.

Bale, who reportedly spends most of his spare time on the golf course, has been continually linked with a move back from Spain to the Premier League.

He was on the subs bench against girona today which they lost. I think we will be seeing bale in the PL next season unless real change their manager again to someone who actually wants to play him.

Weird for Courtois to come out and say that to be honest, speaking like he's a veteran at Madrid as well. "I live like somebody who is born and bred in Madrid"... Well fucking good for you mate, three gold stars coming your way. Such complaints make him sound like a whiny baby.

I have always had the impression that Bale has been somewhat of an outsider there though but was never sire as he's never shown any discontent there.

I agree @spursfan77 it is a bit strange, especially as there were talks of him learning Spanish when still with us before his move. It is somewhat poor if true though. Wanting to sleep earlier or maybe do other things is one thing, that's fine, it's his life he can do what he wants outside of football really but not learning the native language can't be good for integration and such.

He was never going to survive at Real because of Ronaldo, his ego was too big to accept a player like Bale. Now it's too late to take the mantle now he's gone.
Can he come back to the Premiership? His injury problems would see him out most of the time, I'd bet if he got a four year deal he'd only play two or three of them.
I love for him to do well after Real but don't know the right team for him apart from us where he is still loved.

Yeah I'm not sure. Could see someone like United going for him he was to come back to the Prem but firstly I'm not sure how much Madrid would demand and secondly I'm not sure who would stump up such cash on transfer fee and wages knowing his injury record.

I'm not so sure I'd even want us to go for him if I'm honest. Don't get me wrong I'd be massively excited to do so, but I'd fully understand if we thought against it.

Courtois isn't a veteran at Real Madrid, but the city is a home from home for him as he spent 3 years on loan at Atletico and his wife and child(ren) never left there.

Yeah I forgot that he did, but it was just how he said it like as if he deserves a pat on the back.

Courtois always has something to say.

Imagine the lift it would give us if we brought the son of WHL back to christen the new WHL. Now if he could bring Luka back with him we'd walk the league.

CL Semi final would be nice.

It is pretty unbelievable that he's lived in Spain for six years and doesn't speak Spanish. (per marcelos's recent interview)

It's so lazy of us as a nation to be so poor at languages. But Bale...FFS, you're in a country for 6 years and you must be speaking English to get along. It should be Spanish only at least some of the time, even with the children. Anyway, he's finished now.. at least from the value for money point of view. Let someone else entice him back.
