I do think there could be some weight to Bale going to Man Utd although I doubt Levy would sanction over RM or Barca. And I don't think that reason is its successful history but Alex Fergison. As much as you may hate the man he is the one who made Bales idol Giggs into the greatest welsh player in history and Ronaldo into the second best player in the world... And they where both left wingers. Bale wants to be one of the best, that is clear to see by the way plays, but in order to be the best you need to learn from the best. Don't get me wrong I have no love for old whisky boy but look at it from Bales perspective.... As much as he may love Spurs, he is ambitious and the minute we don't match his ambition then he will go to those who can, or at least help him on his way. Unfortunately performances like the one against Inter are not going to send Bale down Levys office, well at least not in search of a new contract that is.

Anyhoo - with Ronaldo a prime example (and having to fill Rooney's fat face with gold to stop him leaving) - aren't Man U technically a selling club with that class of talent? Sir Alex won't be there forever, so 'who will be manager' would be kinda crucial to a young man giving thought to his long term future. Interestingly, young Gareth's relationship with AVB seems rather sound.

I think we might be able to fetch the pipe and slippers, and sit back for at least two season's worth of Bale in a Spurs shirt.

Sweet dreams, all.

Hope you are right.

Bit grumpy that Justin Welby has just been installed Primate of All England. I'd have said our Gareth was shoo-in for the title.

He'll have to make do with Player of the Season.

If they give that to someone else I'll know the world is corrupt.

So if its all blah, blah.... Why bother to repeat it, we all know the red tops are just being sensationalist. Sorry, nothing personal, but it really does grate sometimes when trash like this is continually repeated on here......

Once again apologies, don't want to upset anyone. Rant over.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Gareth Bale is only going to one club, and that's Real Madrid.

Although I still can't see it, at least not this year, they don't need him and unless they feel like splashing out £45m on a backup/left back then he's staying here.

Although it is an election year and last time that happened Perez spent £136m on Kaka and Ronaldo. Make up your own minds.

He will not move abroad for quite a while yet ( 4 / 5 years ) as he has a young kid, very settled etc.

We just need to make sure he stays with us for that time and doesn't move to Manchester

I've thought about this but wouldn't it be easier to move your child when she's young? Rather than at school age.

He won't go to Manchester, Levy won't allow it.

By all accounts I have read and heard that his other half wouldn't want to move abroad - family etc.

£30m Higuain, Coentrao and Di Maria would do me, providing they'd all be willing to come
I was thinking about this, would be an excellent trio of players but with Bale we would not only loose potentially one of the best players in the world but also our talisman. It's almost frittering the effect that man has on the rest of the squad at only 24.... On another note why would RM want rid of Di Maria!?

I thought that, perhaps because Bale would take his place on the right?

If we were offered this deal and the players were willing to come we should definitely consider it though. LB, striker and Bale replacement would be sorted. Sales and the £30m could be used on a CM, a DM and a young, tall striker. Another winger would be nice too. I highly doubt if they did come in they'd offer anywhere near this though. I suspect any first offer will be around £40m cash.

I see the Sun have hit on the Dr Evil figure £100 million pounds.

I think something more realistic would be £15m Higuain, Coentrao and Jese Rodriguez, which i would be very happy with. It would be a value of around 65 million, would include a direct replacement for Bale, a LB and and a striker. I don't know if they would want to let go of Jese, but I think they would for Bale.

Would Higuain or Coentrao want to go the other way though? That's the problem with swap deals and why they rarely work out. I reckon if/when we let him go it'll just be for cold, hard cash.
