I think something more realistic would be £15m Higuain, Coentrao and Jese Rodriguez, which i would be very happy with. It would be a value of around 65 million, would include a direct replacement for Bale, a LB and and a striker. I don't know if they would want to let go of Jese, but I think they would for Bale.

Jese Rodriguez is pretty awesome. If we could add a guy more ready to contribute now while we bring along Rodriguez at a reasonable rate, we'd be setup pretty damned well with the other 2 coming along.

United- £60m, Nani and Hernandez or fuck off. Spend the money + cash from other sales on Benteke, Son, Eriksen, Ben Davies & Alderweireld.
RM- £50m, Higuain and Jese or fuck off.

We don't have to sell this summer, Bale's not throwing his toys out the pram so we can charge what we want. If I was Levy those offers would be the minimum I would accept, we cannot be selling one of our greatest ever players if we want to be competing for trophies in future.

According to the Mirror, that's Modric, Ronaldo, Bale and Isco joining this summer. Pretty major overhaul for a club that's walked to the title with ease.

Where exactly do they intend to get this money from?

I also can't see Levy dealing with United after Berbatov.

I'd take a straight swap for Coentrao (£15m), Di Maria (£25m), Higuain (£20m) and Modric (£20m). That'd be an awesome deal.

Swap deals never happen though and all those players wouldn't come to us. I value Bale at about £80m now. Still wouldn't sell him yet, his value is only going to go one way for a few more years.

I wouldn't, we have one of the World's very best players playing for our club. He wants to stay and at 23 years of age will only get better. I wouldn't swap him for anyone, as i'd sooner wait to see just how good he can become for us.

That is quite exciting isn't it. Can't have happened to Spurs too many times in the past (Hoddle and Gazza aside, but even those two were never considered to be the third best player in the world during their playing days). I hope we get to see Bale strut his stuff here at his peak but I was trying to be pragmatic and in the event that he wanted to leave, four players of the quality of Coentrao, Di Maria, Higuain and Modric filling the glaring holes in the squad would make us one hell of a team.

Yeah it is exciting.... I love seeing any player make the transition from very good to world class, but to see it happen with Bale with us is unbelievable.

Moments like his goal yesterday, or the west ham goal, or the Lyon free kick, should just be enjoyed. I know i'm in the transfer thread, but lets not talk about him leaving, lets just enjoy it while it lasts!!!

Bale almost has no right to continually score the type of goals he has recently. They are all of a disgusting quality. He was born to play for us.

There is no point in all this rhetoric, this story maybe rubbish but he will leave soon rather than later. Everyone knows that.

Shhh, don't let reality get in the way of selling a few papers.

Wonder whether there's a release clause in his new contract, and if so, how much would it be?

That would be nice in an ideal world. But in the real world we would have to pay those wages, and that just wont happen.

I'm not as confident as every1 else. Theres still a possibility he will leave. I'm not saying he will but just because he sais he's not it doesn't actually mean he's not. He's hardly going to say he will leave if we don't make champions league at this point in the season is he? I don't want 2 sound negative but until his name is on that dotted line for a new contract I'm not at ease
