This might be an unpopular opinion, and I love watching Bale play but seeing as he is going to go next year regardless of what happens why don't we sell him to the highest bidder when his stock is at its highest? We could actually rebuild the team with the money we get. :)

Because I don't think many of us on here actually believe that levy would put all the money back in for transfers. Also with no Bale and no campions league it is very hard to attract the types of player that could replace bale IMO

Impossible with Bale and CL too.

We rebuilt the team last summer, don't really want to do it again so soon. Also, who's to say Bale will definately leave next summer? That's just what all the pundits and other teams fans are saying because they don't think we can get any better. If we got 3rd and maybe won a cup I think he could stay longer, it all depends if he signs a new contract.

Exactly- if we can show him spurs are serious about competing with the usual top 4 consistently and winning the odd cup then he could easily stay with us. By most accounts he is happy at spurs and if we had champions league football and he signed a new lucrative contract then at 23 years old there is no reason for him to want to go. He could still go to Madrid, barca, etc in a few years time if he still wanted to.

Optimistic I know but why not!

And that would start an exodus of our top players like Lloris, Verts and Sandro.

If Levy knows that Bale will be sold next year for 60million then how come he doesn't just buy players in advance for one season? I'm only saying this if Bale is sure to leave next year. :) Anyone care to debunk my logic please? It is the only way I'll learn.

There's no guarantee that Bale will be sold for 60 million next season. You'll never know what might happen, Bale might get a serious injury, massive drop in form etc. (Fingers crossed it wont happen though!)
It would be a gamble to spend 60 million on the premises that we might be able to sell Bale at that price next season.

... And Mr. Levy doesn't appear to be a gambling kind of guy..

Big knows strikes again (not referring to you by the way)! There is no definitive 'knows' unless someone such as RM have coughed up early is there? What happens if it decides he wants to stay after all? What happens if he has a crap season and is found out? What happens if he breaks his leg? Just because his agent says one thing it doesn't mean it happens.

These are the sorts of gambles that can break a club - unless of course the goods you buy have the same or similar resale value. I don't want us to do a Leeds United though.

What if we won the league and he wanted to sign a huge extension and then we had to sell him because we spent that money and were too far in the red?

if levy bought damiao to score goals and a decent winger to go on the left and supply the passes, we could have 40 million left over and probably pay less than the proported 175,000 a week he will get.

bale equals=21 goals a season, it's not like he creates anything for others when hes playing in the center. He's form coincided with a severe drop in defoe and adebayors output.
